Madrid, Spain PPL PA28 C172 solo hire enquiry by
windmillhills
Hi
I am a British 200 hour UK PPL holder.
I shall be taking a week's holiday in Madrid next month (November 2005)
and would like to take some Spanish friends flying for an hour or so
around the outskirts of the city.
Does anyone know a good Madrid flying club or school that hires out
PA28...

GPS - losing signal by
Hilton
Hi,
I know GPS works in bad weather, but...
When would a GPS lose a signal due to weather? i.e. do certain clouds (or
huge ones) make a GPS signal go bad? Does rain? If so, how much? What
about snow? If I was in a hurricane, would I lose the signal? Lightning?
What other things can make...

Carbon Monoxide Detector? by
Morgans
Another informal survey.
How many of you have, and use a battery powered Carbon Monoxide Detector
when you fly?
Why, or why not?

Rogues Gallery Update -- October '05 by
Jay Honeck
My bad. Things have been so nuts around here, that I've COMPLETELY
forgotten my duties as keeper of the rec.aviation "Rogues Gallery."
For October, check out http://www.alexisparkinn.com/rec_aviation.htm
to see:
- David Gamblin's awesome new '76 Piper Warrior (yes, he's switched

Please help me choose a handheld VHF NAV/COM by
BTIZ
I have an older ICOM A-22 and use it every weekend flying gliders. I have
used it for powered flight to pick up ATIS etc prior to engine start. Works
great.
I have not attempted to use the ICOM in powered aircraft in flight. But I do
have the headset adapter for it if my comms ever fail.
I have...

TurboProp Plane ID request by
Dennis Mayer
I've read this newsgroup for 4 months with great Aero interest.....
Today in GBay, WI an unusually large single prop, turbo engine plane
flew quite low overhead... It reminded me of a fat, long Bell XP-59.
Plane had a single nose Prop, sound of a jet engine, tall T tail, and
both a fat & long...

Tried to Call it "Runway 7" today... by
Jay Honeck
After all the talk about not using "leading zeros" when making radio calls
referring to runways, I tried my darndest to omit those offending zeros
today.
To my surprise and dismay, my mouth has apparently developed an "autopilot"
mode that seemed to prohibit even the simplest changes to my rote...

Jimmy Franklin Airshow - Heart Memorial Fund by
[email protected]
Hey everyone, if you want to contribute to a great memorial, and get a
tax deduction, please consider the Jimmy Franklin Heart Memorial.
Anyone who has ever seen Jimmy perform at an airshow knows what type of
entertainer and pilot he was (I think he should have been an
astronaut). So if you've...

Beechcraft Bonanza F35 by
Bushleague
Hi I recently purchased a Bonanza F35 on eBay for short ($49,000)
money. It has all of the mods and AD's accomplished, no prop AD, new
paint, leather interior, cruises in the yellow arc like a typical
v-tail, and 1100 hours left on the engine. My next choice was
a V-35 by D'Shannon with a 300 hp...
