WW2 bombing by Bernardz
Say I dropped 1000 tones over a long period of time in a city in the region 50 square kilometers. Does anyone know of any tables or formulas that can tell me how effective in WW2 air bombing of a city would reasonably be? Also any information on the effect of over hitting would be appreciated.

# Bush Disobeyed Direct Order To Get Physical by BUFDRVR
David Lentz wrote: The memo could have have teen typed on 1970's typewriter. Don't you mean *couldn't*? I haven't heard the "official" word from any "typewriter experts", but most people are saying the superscript in 111th wasn't possible on typewriters of the early 70s.

Does China have long range bombers? by Mike
Does China have long range bombers at this time that can reach the continental United States? Although they have nuclear bombs, what about the planes to deliver them? I know China had some TU-16 planes years ago, but did they ever develop long range bombers or get any from the former Soviet...

stand off missiles by [email protected]
The Air Staff in the UK were looking at standoff missiles in the late 50s/early 60s. These would have been turbojet or ramjet missiles. They were always objected to on the grounds of 'vulnerability'. Can anyone answer some questions? 1. A ramjet missile travelling Mach 2 to 3 at 70,000ft. (a)...

Soviet Escort of American Bombers??? by Stephen Harding
Was looking at a reference page for the Yak-9 where it mentioned a model Yak-9DD which had extra fuel tanks installed for a range of up to just under 1400 miles. The stated purpose was for the escort of American bombers attacking Romanian oil fields. While the many raids against Ploesti are well...

Bear question by Jim Doyle
Just yesterday a friend asked me if there were stability issues during the design of the Tu-20. This was on account of its extremely long and slender fuselage which obviously presents a huge mmt arm. I though maybe cruise/drag considerations or structure limitations may have been the rationale...

U-234 and Me262 by vzlion
I've been following the thread on the U-234 and was most intetested in the statement that there was a Me262 on board. Can anyone provide any substantial evidence of this, other than the statement that there was one on board? And if there was one on board what happened to it? I would assume that if...
