Oil Cooler for Auto-Conversions by
Bruce A. Frank
I have received several email from people building auto engines for
their projects. A problem has come up because of the unavailability of
the Modine "Donut" water-to-oil cooler. This is a very nice heat
exchanger that fits between the engine block and spin-on oil filter. It
uses the coolant water...

Ford Funded "Flyer" Flops by
Harry Burns
Well folks,
So goes it for the Wright Experience boys. A whole lot of sponsor money spent.
An exclusive contract and a great gig. Fame, fortune and all that goes with
it. But in the end, none of it mattered. That good 'ole 1903 did 'em in after
two attempts, which proves two things. First,...

700lbs? by
wesleymarceaux[_2_]
I know this will not do much for unbelievers, But I have no problem
believing that an 1835 engine with a belt reduction system would fly an
airplane with a takeoff weight of 1050lb's.. The performance didn't look to
be that bad either. I think a good 1835 vw engine with reduction can do...

Antennas by
Terry
Thanks, John. The reason that I'm looking for something other than a
standard 1/4 wave antenna is that I have one of those now, and it
isn't working. I know nothing about antennas other than what I've
read on the 'net, but I've been told that the location of mine isn't
the best. It's on the wing...

Flying platforms/airgeeps by
David L. Burkhead
How would something like the Hiller flying platforms, the Piaseki "AirGeeps"
or, for that matter, the Avro Aircar, done as a homebuilt be licensed? They
don't seem to fit any of the normal categories I'm familar with.

JimM
Can anyone provide information concerning an all wood homebuilt design
by Joe Lynden called the Aurora? I believe this to be a new British
design.

The "Whirl": More Efficient Rotary Craft? by
sanman
Here's something I was reading:
http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99996380
So beyond the mere claim of being more efficient, why would it actually be so?
The claim of hovering for 4 days is quite a jump, when compared to Global Hawk.
Is this even vaguely realistic?

Anyone using elect. wire markers? by
MJC
Looking for some input:
I don't really see a need to buy several different colors of electrical
wire for my homebuilt when you can easily use just one color (white?) to do
it all. The only thing you then need to do is to mark the ends of the wires
to identify the circuits and where it all goes...

Thorp T-211 by
Ron Mahaffey
I am thinking about building a kit that is rated for a Sports Pilot. Have
looked at Kitfoxes, the Zenith Zodiac and the T-211. Really like the little
that I can find on the T-211 but the lack of information and builder sites
is raising a red flag. Does anyone have any suggestions for a plane...

Flyin' (sky)Ferraris OR The media is catching on... by
wright1902glider
Looks like our old friend Paul is at it again. Reminds me a lot of the
contractor-guy in that movie "The Money Pit". (When will my house be
done? Oh, in about two weeks!) Right. And Jerry Lewis said that we
were only a few years away from a cure for MD. That was in 1977.
At least the reporter...

Oil cooler? by
Rick
Hi guys.
The Hobbs on my Zodie HD clicked past the 20 mark this morning. I'm half
way to the magic number 40 when I can finally get outta this 50 mile
circle. All's going well, except the Jabiru 3300's CHT and oil temps
are still hotter than I want to see. At 2750- 2900 RPM's my hottest
cylinder...
