Yes, we had 2 accidents. Maybe we should ALL wait till the reports and
details come in, before we do more damage than is needed. I did see and
hear from persons who saw both accidents. The best news was no one was
hurt. Now, we will wait till the folks figure out what happened. The

Region 9 Parowan Update # 6 important.......... by

No gliders over a 20 Meter wing span will be allowed entry into the
Region 9 Soaring contest for this year. We have received approval from
the SSA rules committee on this wavier.

with the new entry fees of $225 and $53 per tow. Pilot entry list
shows top 50 entrants as being "application accepted and a entrant in
the contest". All the rest are in order of standyby's,
# 51 to # 76.

Saturday, June 2, 2007. Had a possible soaring window. Gridded,
watched 2 motorgliders, restart, climb, restart, climb. They reported
weak lift, maybe 1200 agl to 1800 agl. Watched big, well, started
small, but got bigger, cell to the...Northeast, then another South,
then several more surronding...

Wednesday, June 6th. Winds, rain and cells moving thur in the am
hours. 50 kts at 2000 agl, and high wind warnings this afternoon gave
the CD enough information to call it a day at the pilots meeting.
Thursday is the last day, and we have 3 contests "in", so need
something for tomorrow.

recieved the Dec issue,. so I sent an email to her. Seems lke for some

Herold, IV, he just averaged his 10 longest flights, they averaged
699.4 miles.

Rolled into Hobbs several days ago. Yesterday, big
thunderstorm early afternoon, with heavy rains and winds. No one flew,
several were ready, but we had no towplane. Today, Dick Mockler flew
in for afternoon tows. Right now, the sky isn't to promising, but
several are ready, if things get better....

for Parowan. Its best to remember that the 2004 Regionals at Parowan
only saw 49 show up and the 2005 Sports Class Nationals at Parowan had
only 48 show up. So, both contest's ended up short of the cutoff of 50
entrants. Both were over...
