"Fantasy" Flight - Video by
A Lieberma[_2_]
Yesterday's "Fantasy" IFR flight from Bessemer AL back home to Madison
MS. KMBO.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GMej00GrhE
Cumulus cloud bases were 5000 estimated to 8000 feet. My cruise
altitude was 6000. One has to admit, the view at 6000 was more
photogenic then Interstate 20 and...

PTI Paints from Aircraft Spruce by
PPT33R
I just had a very bad experience with a can of PTI enamel
"exclusively" from Aircraft Spruce.
There was only enough propellant in the can to cover 1 square foot of
surface. There is still a vast majority of the product in the can.
This is absolutely horrible quality for the cost of these...

Cherokee shoulder seat belt replacement by
texas slacker
My warrior is fitted with shoulder strap seat belts anchored to the
upper side of the plane, just above the second window. From the looks
of them they were original equipment. Now - I need to remove the
retracting mechanism so I can have new belts attached. After removal
of the plastic cover plate...

Narco MK 12 D+ by
Tri-Pacer
I have a Narco MK-12D+ that has an intermittent connection in the display
assembly. At times the display will go dim---it never goes completely
out-----. Pressing lightly anywhere on the front panel returns it to normal
brilliance.
This pretty well isolates the problem to either the display...

mode c intermittent by
skyav8r
Howdy,
I have an Aeromech 8140B20 encoding altimeter with a KT76 transponder. Mode C is intermittent with ATC. Is it more than likely this is an altimeter problem or transponder problem? Sometimes when it is not reporting, i cycle the transponder off then back on and it starts reporting again. That...

Overhaul !!!!! ?????? by
Charles Talleyrand
My local mechanic says that I need to overhaul my engine. It's got
1200 hours but it's been 27 years since the last overhaul. He's
worried about the age, and he hears "piston slap" when he runs the
engine. Compression and oil analysis are fine. He is well respected
around the local airport.
He...

How to Remove Piston from Cylinder by
Paul Dow (Remove Caps in mail address)
A member of our EAA chapter has a cylinder from a Franklin 150 engine
(off the engine.) The piston was pushed too far up and the top ring
sprung out so it now overlaps the cylinder sleeve which locks the piston
in place.
Does anyone have a technique to get the piston out? Preferably while...

PA-28-180 Low power query by
[email protected]
Hey all. As some of you may recall, about a year ago I posted a question regarding two different power loss issues I was having
with my PA-28-140 with an O-360-A4A 180hp upgraded engine. I'll summarize what's transpired and figure to get some opinions on what I
might try next.
Basically, I...

Too Old? by
Gezellig
Recently a 72 yo went blind in flight (stroke?) and safely landed in the
drink in FL. Several comments were that age should be considered in
keeping your PPL. I can see this makes sense /but/ it would prolly be
illegal.
Too old? If so, at what age do you place the cutoff?

Anyone doing a recovering project? by
Lou
I'm looking for a piece of used fabric. As strange as this
may sound, I want to study it. If anyone has a piece from
14"x14" to 16x16 (or there abouts) could you contact me?
I'm curious about how this stuff works.
