How to rent out my airplane by
Isaac McDonald
I am thinking of buying an airplane....I want to rent it when it is not in
use to recoup some of the cost of buying the plane. How hard is it to do
this? What are the insurance costs? How often do I need to get it checked
out by an aviation mechanic? How much is the maintenece? Do I have to...

KX-155 repair history by
Dave Butler
We're having some problems with our KX-155 where it intermittently stops
navigating. Several attempts at repair have failed. A friend has a KX-155 that
won't transmit. Another friend had a series of repairs on his KX-155.
The conventional wisdom seems to be that the KX-155 is the gold standard...

YAK 52 insurance? by
YeahBuddy
Hi folks,
Anybody has any idea how much insurance on an older YAK-52 (50K-65K
purchase price) goes for? I'm assuming one registered pilot just out
of Air force UPT and all the civilian equivalent ratings under the
belt. Thanks a bunch!
Oh on a related question, what's a common aircraft loan term?...

iflyatiger
You still have today (Saturday) and tomorrow to go see the Sussex, New
Jersey airshow..
Flew in yesterday for the show and it was great. The volunteers did a great
job and were always helpful and friendly. The airshow was pretty much non
stop from about 1:00 till 5:00.

small partnership questions by
TTA Cherokee Driver
As part of due dilligence in deciding whether or not to buy a plane and
if so how, I would like some feedback from people in small partnerships
(2-3 partners).
How do you usually handle scheduling? Do you divide up the calendar
("every other week is mine") and if so how flexible is it? Or do...

Cost to install IFR GPS in a basic IFR 172? by
C Kingsbury
Googling the group yielded little so here goes...
1979 172, overall average condition with mostly original radios and
wiring (one RT-385 recently replaced by a TKM radio, M1 Loran from a
few centuries ago)
The Cessna 300 ADF has gone flaky. The box tests fine on the bench
which suggests a wild...

Interiors by
Dico Reyers
Hello,
We have a 67 Mooney m20e Super 21 with the original interior.
Needless to say it is quite dated. The plane flies great, fast and is
fuel efficient... but it just doesn't look great. Some of the plastic
is cracked and turning yellowish and the upholstery is wearing.
I am wondering if...

Engine with Complex History by
Mike Granby
Long story:
I'm looking at purchasing a 1974 PA-32-300 advertised as having a
engine with 600 hours on it since new. After reviewing the engine logs
and doing some digging online, I find that the engine was exported by
Lycoming to Poland, where it was fitted to a PZL-104M. It stayed there

Wanted: Blank Datacard Garmin GNS430 by
Marco Leon
Sorry for the broadcast but I seem to have lost my extra datacard for my
GNS430. Does anoyone happen to have en extra one they'd like to unload? Of
course, I don't need to have any data on there (in other words, not looking
to scam for a more updated database).
Thanks,

Overhaul information by
Jerry Jesion
I was wondering exactly which parts are generaly NOT replaced in an
engine overhaul. Assume all new cylinders/pistons/rings/pushrods. I
know that the crank is often not replaced if it checks to spec, and
the cam may be reground and replaced but what about other parts? Are
the con rods usually...
