182 questions by
Paul Anton
I am hoping to tap some of the expertise here to solve a problem I have run
into.
I am a retired guy who was called by a local Part 141 school to fill in as
their flightline mechanic until they could find a permanent A&P. They have
an early 182RG (serial 141) that has an ongoing electrical...

182RG by
Paul Anton
Thanks all on the help with my 182RG problem. I now know where to have the
ammeter repaired.
On the original trouble which was a wildly fluctuating ammeter, I found an
easy way to jumper the "B" terminal of the regulator to the buss. Trouble
was gone. I next jumpered the over voltage sensor by...

18mm plugs by
w b evans
Just a reminder that here's a place to get great 18mm plugs so you don't
have to get the aviation type for big $$. Got quite a few hours on them in
my Pietenpol.
They are name brand (champion) and most are $2.00 apiece.
Even got some of the snazzy wire that pokes out behind the eyebrows on...

Victor Bravo
The bidding on the Cessna 210 ebay austion is halfway over, only 4
days left. So far the high bid os only $25,800 which would be the
steal of the century...uhhh... I mean the steal of the Centurion! Put
in a reasonable bid and you might fly away in a really nice airplane !
This airplane was...

Victor Bravo
I have listed another aircraft on ebay for one of my airport
naighbors, this one is a 1966 Cessna 172G with 795 SMOH, in annual and
ready to fly right now. This is NOT a show quality plane, it DOES have

1966 Cessna 172 Control Yokes --- What Alloy? by
jls
I need to treat them against corrosion.
The yokes are rough looking, corroded from the hands of white-knuckled
sweaty students, and the paint chipped so I stripped the paint off to
refinish them. The metal doesn't act like the usual aluminum alloy. When
exposed to a drop of phosphoric acid, it...

I have recently ended up with one of these in my possesion. The wings have
been removed and it was in storage. I don't understand how the elevator
connects to the elevator tube, which in turn connects to the control column.
There are no connection points on the elevator.
Does anyone have any...

1999 Arlington crash jury award by
Kevin Davidson
This one really has me bothered: 1999 NWEAA Arlington Fly-in, pilot in RV-6
rushes departure at high angle of attack, crashes, dies in the ensuing fire.
His survivors sue EAA and NWEAA claiming the fire crews didn't get there
soon enough. The stated claims don't even agree with the NTSB...

Building an engine -- or an airplane -- there are times when I fail to
provide a lot of detail, partly because I ASSUME everyone KNOWS those
pesky little details. Which makes me something of a fool.

2 Engines - 1 Prop...ME Rating? by
Andy Asberry
I've Googled for everything I can find on 2 engines driving 1 prop.
There are several military and civilian examples. Nowhere did I see
that a ME rating was required of the pilot. I'm familiar with ME
Centerline thrust.
Cites, observations and comments please.
