Dyke Delta contact by THEByleDuct
Hi all, I'm looking for a way to contact Dyke Aircraft to purchase a set of plans for the Dyke Delta. I thought I had found the right email address but there has been no response from them. Does anyone know if they have stopped selling the plans? The Delta Builders Network is no longer up...

Hughes Racer Replica Lost by Wayne Sagar
It would appear that the wonderful Hughes Racer Replica has been lost in a crash in Yellowstone Park. My prayers go out to everyone involved with this project. Jim Wright was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Wayne Sagar All Aviation FlightLine OnLine http://www.aafo.com/

Single-rotor Mazda engines.... any flying our there? by Pete
I am toying with teh idea of using a single-rotor turbo-normalized mazda with reduction-drive and was wondering if there are any builders out there who have checked out the same possibility? I'm only looking for around 100-120 hp, with weight an obvious consideration. The only name I have heard of...

HP-18 project flown 1500 hours with trailer by Victor Bravo
Up for auction on ebay now is an HP-18 project. It has flown 1500 hours but needs a complete rebuild. It NEEDS either wing contouring or use it as a "quickbuild" kit for a Super-18 with the fuselage, tail, wing spars and controls already built. Comes with a very good Gehrlein open heavy duty...

Dear fellow aviation enthusiasts, I recently purchased X-Plane and had such an interesting experience that I thought I'd share (see http://home.nc.rr.com/bshankle/xplane.html). I am curious if any of you have had an experience anywhere close to mine? Sincerely, Bruce Shankle

Lightspeed -- Was:Oshkosh 2003 Redux by Jack McAdams
Everything was trimmed!! (-; Counterpoint to the Lightspeed QA 'issue': I have a 20XL and a 30XL. Both have performed flawlessly from the day I got them. Maybe I'm just lucky, but that never happens! To be fair, I don't listen to music in the air so I am unqualified to comment on the audio...

Advice, please: too old to fly? by R.W. Behan
There can be no better source of advice than this group for my question: am I too old to take up flying--and building an airplane? Full disclosure. As a young man in the Korean War I was an aviation machinist's mate in the Navy. As a forestry student in the late '50's I was a smokejumper, so I...

I am trying to get some information on a P-51 mustang called "Spare Parts". My wifes grandfather worked on this plane while he was in WWII. Said it was his favorite airplane. He was a mechanic and help build this plane from three that were damaged. I am an amature artist and would like to make...

Fuel System Musings, comments encouraged by flybynightkarmarepair
My blog has become a way for me to think out loud about my project. Putting things down in a narrative helps me crystallize my thoughts, and give me something to refer back to when the time comes to move from thinking to doing. Anyway, I've been THINKING about my fuel system, and have put down...

Citabria 7ECA Exhaust Wanted by Capt. Dave
Hi Citabria with a Lycoming 0-235, Homebuilt. I need an exhaust system similar to an RV4's including heat muffs. I don't know if an 0-320 has the same exhaust as an 0-235. Apparently the crossover option is a must for horsepower, and the intake tubes and carb location are different than...

Problems with Rapco dry vacuum pumps. by abripl
Just a warning for those who might consider purchasing Rapco dry vacuum pumps. Make sure that your engine does not leak oil. If there is any chance of an oil drip onto the Rapco vacuum pump it may eventually stop working. The connecting shaft is vented to air. But if some oil drops on the shaft it...

Need a ride from Milwauke to OshKosh by Steve Ruse
Some of my friend's plans fell through so I'm having to make some changes to my OshKosh plans. I'll be flying into Milwaukee on Wednesday evening, & flying out of Milwaukee on Sunday. That leaves me about 90 miles from all the fun though. Is anyone heading my way with an extra seat (car or plane)...
