747 with Global Peace Ambassador markings at BWI by jim
Like the subject states there has been a 747 at Baltimore-Washington International with the markings "Global Peace Ambassador" painted on the side sitting on the apron for a few days. Does anybody know anything about it?

Q On NYC Airplanes by John A. Weeks III
In looking around in Google Earth, I found a group of airplanes that appear to be on static display. They are in New York City, across the Grand Central Parkway from the end of Runway 4/22 at Laguardia Airport. Specifically, they are in a parking lot at the corner of Ditmars and 90th. Anyone know...

human flight by patrick timony
Is anyone experimenting with human powered flight based on flapping wing aerodynamics (hovering wing motion rather than soaring)? I have a number of ideas and would love to exchange thoughts on the subject. Some of them are as follows: Materials: light, strong, sandwich-layered foam like...

Damn! Those floats sure do drag! by Kyler Laird
We watched the movie "Trapped" recently. The good guy had a floatplane (C182?). I thought that was cool. Then he had to take a phone call while flying. He pulled the engine so that the bad guy wouldn't know he was in a plane, but he had to shove it into a 1,000-3,000 fpm dive! He did it twice...

I can teach anyone how to get what they want out of life. by reynArd
"I can teach anyone how to get what they want out of life. The problem is I can't find anybody who can tell me what they want." -- Mark Twain "Today people in America can become whatever they want. Lights at Lincoln Park? by Roy Smith
I was at Lincoln Park (N07) last night and we couldn't get the lights to come on from the air. GPS had us pretty much right over the field. I've had this problem before at N07 and never had it anywhere else. Is there something strange about the PCL there? From the AFD data, it looks like the...

Chrome plating rocker covers by Jim
Might not be that significant, but not as much heat will transfer from the oil splashing around in the rocker box to air passing over the cover if it's chromed. On Wed, 12 May 2004 23:37:44 +0100, Peter wrote: Hi All, After just two years from new, the paint has...

Becoming CFI by Chris
I'm wondering if an instrument rating is a required to be a CFI for aircraft (not CFII) just CFI VFR only. The regulation is alittle unclear to me states "An instrument rating OR privileges on that person's pilot certificate that are appropriate to the flight instructors rating saught." The OR is...
