Is Zero Indicated Airspeed Possible? by Ol Shy & Bashful
There is the question. I'm in a mood today. Have you flown your favorite aircraft with zero or near zero indicated airspeed? I'm talking about controlled flight and predictable outcomes. Let the games begin. I'm so freaking tired of beach volleyball and the bull**** olympics that is full of...

Strange landing at SJC by Alexander Avtanski
Hello, I just came back from a walk outside my office in Santa Clara. Around 3:00pm I saw something quite unusual - while all the planes from San Jose International were taking off in N-W direction, there was a single plane (something that looked a bit like MD-80) that seemed to _land_ coming...

How much fuel do you prefer to carry? by Mxsmanic
When you fly, how much fuel do you prefer to carry? Do you just load enough to meet the FARs? Do you like to add a fudge factor? If so, how much? Do you prefer to fly with full tanks irrespective of the length of the flight? Is it significantly more expensive to fly with the tanks topped off...

MAP behavior question by Bob F.[_3_]
Here's a question ... When a normally aspirated engine quits while at cruise, how does the MAP react with respect to the throttle? Does it indicate zero? Does it indicate barometric pressure? Does it pin? (Go to max)? Does it follow the Throttle (high MAP with a high throttle setting , low when...

Charitable Flights by [email protected]
Any one know of any organization besides Angel Flight for making tax deductible flights in Los Angeles? I've nothing against Angel Flights, I'm just looking for other options too. Preferable a bit less structured and scheduled. I do meet the AF requirements for mission pilots.
