Sad News by
Robert Fidler[_2_]
Gene Rinke has passed away after a year long fight with brain cancer. I visited him a week ago and he remained in good spirits even though he was aware his time was near. Gene was a great friend, an outstanding individual and a great soaring pilot. I flew with him for almost 20 years on countless...

Soaring across US Canada border (and back) by
son_of_flubber
The FAA posts the relevant rules and overview http://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/ifim/airspace/
but there must be some good stories. It would have been easy (from a lift and wind perspective) for a XC pilot to cross over and back today in Vermont. It must be tempting.

Best soaring - is there any doubt? by
Mitch
If you look at the OLC scores from yesterday (1 May) you will see 1050,
945, and 800 KM flights out of Moriarty NM on the first of May. The
Albuquerque Soaring club blows the competition away every year in the
OLC because of consistant year-round soaring with wave in the winter
and great thermals...

garmin + see you software by
Willie G
I am interested in the garmin iqM5 as it has a GPS
receiver built in. Is anyone out there using one of
these in their glider?
If so, how is the screen on it? okay on daylight?
I guess it would be compatible with "see you"
software to make a portable solution.
