Imron? by
Paul Folbrecht
Is there any way to tell if my plane is currently painted in Imron? One
paint shop I'm considering won't touch it if it is. The log entry
doesn't say.
The previous owner had put some clear packing tape over the wing root
vents for winter flying, and when I peeled the stuff off it took paint
with...

Just for laughs, take a look at the groups the original message was
posted to. Is there a spammer toolkit that includes "random newsgroup"
software?
I don't know if there is such a kit, but I can't...

Nubie Question: New or Used for New Pilot? by
picopirate
If I were to take out one of those 20 yr financing plans I could afford up
to $200k. Not saying I want to, just saying I could (and live on soup an
romin noodles for a few years). Okay it would not be that bad but it would
be tighter than I would like. Anyway, if I were to decide to get a...

hobbs time by
Paul Folbrecht
My C152 has about 7500 TT logged but the hobbs shows about 3900. Does
this make any sense? Perhaps the hourmeter was replaced?

First the AI, then the DG, then...? by
Jay Honeck
A couple of months ago our AI, which had been "coming and going", finally
went. We replaced it with a rebuilt unit from "The Gyro House", which had
the dual effect of getting our autopilot working properly again.
Last month, our DG failed completely and suddenly, after a normal landing in
Pella,...

ARC Cessna 328 Aux Audio Inputs by
N7155A
Under the supervision of my IA, we installed a vor radio. I connected
the vor audio output to one of the Aud-Audio inputs on the RT328D,
thinking this would supply audio to the intercom (connected to the
RT328 phone output) and the speaker.
The VOR radio output only appears to go to the speaker...

Simple & Cheap Tricks for your plane by
Jay Honeck
This thread was actually started on the Cherokee 235/236 owner's group a
couple of days ago, and it was quite interesting and informative. However,
that group is quite small by comparison to rec.aviation -- so I thought I'd
open this topic up for everyone here.
The challenge is this: Post all the...

Equipment List Required Documentation by
O. Sami Saydjari
In the documentation set that I received with my aircraft (PA28R-201T),
I found an "Eqipment List" that does not seem to have been kept up to
date. I also have a document with the original equipment list that came
with the aircraft when it was born. My latest weight and balance also
has equipment...

Nose gear failure by
Greg Esres
Technical question regarding gear extension mechanisms:
Our flight school's Seneca had a nosewheel collapse today during
rollout after a landing. The instructor, pilot, and witnesses agree
that all of the airplanes 5 landings were good; none hard and
certainly no nosewheel landings. The lights...

Filter element for Frantz filter by

Hi
In addition to the usual oil filter system, my Mooney M20E is equiped with
the aero version of the Frantz oil filter.
However, I have much difficulty to locate a supplier of filter elements (
you know the one which looks like toilet paper roll) which are FAA approved.
I would really much...

Questions regarding Air/Oil Separators by
Doodybutch
I am think of having one of these Air/Oil Separators installed on my R182

I have a couple of questions:
1) Do they actually work and keep the oily mess off the bottom of the plane?
2) I think there are at least two different ones available - which is...

How much play in Archer Trim Jackscrew? by
Bob Chilcoat
The pitch trim jackscrew in our 74 Archer seems to have a lot of play in two
places. There is play at the bottom, where the nut is attached to the rod
for the antiservo tab, and there is play at the top, where the bearing is
linked to the attachment plate (by what appears to be some sort of...
