high copper reading in oil analysis by
[email protected]
I've put a little over 100 hours on my 150 since purchase in January
'03. Recently, I've begun oil analysis with Blackstone. The universal
avg for copper on an O-200 is 9 ppm. My reading at 488 hrs on the
engine was 18 ppm and my most recent reading at the last oil change is
even higher at 25 ppm....

Power Port in BACK seat? by
Jay Honeck
Has anyone installed one in a Spam Can?
With the advent of laptops and portable DVD/CD players, it would seem
logical to have some sort of a power port in the back seat -- yet I have
never seen one.
My kids could sure use one!

Corporation or LLC as Owner? by
robin
I own a 1963 Piper Cherokee 180. To reduce costs I am considering
selling a share or leasing time in the aircraft to a very small number
of folks.
So that I sleep better at night I think it would make sense to transfer
the owenership of the airplane to a corporation or California LLC.
There appear...

Anyone use Air Chart? by
Steven Barnes
I saw an ad in AOPA for www.airchart.com . Does anyone have any experience
with these charts? My flight instructor recently got them. For someone that
does a bit of traveling, it sounds like a great deal. I'm curious how
practical they are (in-flight usage, not able to draw the big 'ol line
across...

Time (years) SMOA by
Paul Folbrecht
The 150 I had pre-buy'ed today has an O-200 with 940 SMOA but this
overhaul happened 24 years ago. Mechanic has pointed out that
Continental also specifies a time limit of 12 years on overhaul and thus
this engine is technically runout.
Do I have much cause for concern?? I know engines are quite...

MRQB
The airplane I just bought gave me a nice little surprise went out to do my
pre flight and noticed that my right rudder cable had some slop in it I did
not feel comfortable flying it with the lack of tension on it so the
mechanic is going to look at it tomorrow. Also what holds tension on...

Couldn't find much help with google. Can someone give me a short course on
Course Deviation Indicators (CDIs) and their interfaces to the equipment that
drives them?
Looking at a couple of web sites, there appear to be tens of unique models of
the CDIs, a different model for each possible NAV...

What's high TT for a Lyc 235? by
Paul Folbrecht
My engine has 1200 SMOA and 4500 TT. I can find very little regarding
the relevance of total time. Maybe it's close to irrelevant since a MO
touches everything anyway. Lyc even zero-times their remans, of course,
even they are obviously not truly 0 TT. Just curious about the subject
of engine...

WAC Chart Images on line? by

Now that we have Approach Procedure chart images available on-line, does
anybody know of a URL where I can get WAC Chart images (or Sectional
Chart images) on line?
I'd like to print a kind of strip chart for various trips that I take,
with just the route of flight and 30-40 miles to either side. ...

Q re Instrument lighting upgrade by Aero Enhancement: anyone with experience? by
Andrew Gideon
The club to which I belong is upgrading the instrument lighting in one of
our 182s. I've been doing the research side of this.
All was going well. We ultimately decided upon the panel overlay product
from Aero Enhancement, and started looking at shops to do the installation.
And here's where I...
