meeting net.friends IRL by
Journeyman
Last weekend, we decided to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary,
by flying down to D.C. to see the still-new flight musueum. Very
worthwhile for anyone with any interest in aviation.
I pinged Ron & Margy and despite their busy schedule was able to get
together with them. For those paying...

Flying with small kids by
Bill G
Anyone have any experience taking small children flying for the first
time?
Did the kids start screaming the minute the wheels left the pavement
or were they pretty calm?

"Da Mayor" At Work by
Jay Honeck
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050504/ap_on_re_us/chicago_truck_scandal
Maybe they'll finally arrest King Daley for willful and criminal destruction
of public property?
Supposedly, he's "hurt, embarrassed and disappointed" that there is actual
corruption in Chicago! Imagine that?
Ha! I hope...

Identify this Movie? by
John Clonts
A colleague today was describing a movie from "10-15 years ago", which included a guy in the belly turret of a
WWII bomber whose landing gear had been shot off. His harness is also stuck. Being an artist, he draws a
drawing of the landing gear, and the the plane lands on the "animated" landing...

Farewell, for now by
Christopher Campbell
Guys, this is pretty much farewell. As many of you know, Jane and I have
been planning for some time to do missionary work in the Philippines. We are
finally leaving on Saturday for two weeks of training and then directly from
there to Laoag. We will not be back until December of 2006. I don't...

New technology de-icing techniques and devices by
Corky Scott

at Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering who had developed a new
method for removing ice from just about anything using electricity to
interact with the ice.
I just found out he has a website and folks who are interested can...

Flight Planning Software by
Cetacea
I know this subject has been discussed before, but not in awhile. I am
a current user of Destination Direct and Aeroplanner. While I really
like DD, I am very displeased with their updates. They don't even
support current TFR's over a planned route. Aeroplanner does allow
this, but I don't...

Aircraft Winch by
Kobra
Flyers,
I finally had it with hangar rent increases and moved to a tie-down. So now
I have a Ramsey ATV2500 wireless remote winch for sale on ebay.com. It is
great for pulling a plane into the hangar. I used it for 1 1/2 years and it
really saved my back.
Here's the...

scheduling website by

We've been using www.youcanbookit.com for scheduling our airplane. So far
it's been easy and worked great. The best part about it was it was a
free/commercial based site. Unfortunately the site has gone down and the
owner says it isn't likely to be put back online.
What web based scheduleing...

Responsible Piloting by
Icebound
Just saw the Bud Light commercial for the first time, where the pilot needs
a Bud Light so badly that he follows a case of it out the door without a
'chute, leaving the sky-divers' plane pilotless.
Has this one been around long?
A-B gotta work in an F-16 into the next one, somehow.
