Spratt 103 by
[email protected]
I'm interested in building a Spratt 103, see www.spratt103.com. I like to hear from anyone with specific information about it's flight qualities, based on the actual experience of flying one or observing its flight.
About 200 plans have been sold world wide and as it isn't a 10 year build, surely...

Scaling up a Pietenpol Aircamper, or Pober Junior Ace by
jma
Howdy,
I would like to build one of these, but I'm a big fella. 6'2, 250#. I require more useful load. I am generally from the school of "Don't mess with a good thing", and would like a well proven design, with a relatively low build time.
I have looked far and wide, and what I want is a Piet,...

If I was interested in building a replica "de Havilland Tiger Moth" not
necessarily an exact replica, just the general shape, etc. Where could I
get plans?
I would consider other models of open cockpit biplane too.

Identify this airplane, please by
[email protected]
I have a friend who bought an airplane in 1962, and he cannot remember the make.
It was a white or cream taildragger with tandem seating and a control stick rather than a yoke. It was a high-wing airplane, and it was easy to fly.
He bought it when he was 15, for $600, and his only training was...

Curtiss Pusher Model D by
A couple friends and I are planning to build a 1911 Curtiss. We acquired
plans from the Curtiss Museum a number of years ago and hope to finally get
started soon. While the plans are quite detailed in some ways, there are
many things that are not specified. Even the type of wood used is not...

Schweiss bi-fold hangar door seal design by
[email protected]
The rubber seal Schweiss uses doesn't last. After 3 years, mine had succumbed to dun damage. Rather than buying another rubber seal from Schweiss, I ordered enough "Umbrella" fabric to make a 48' strip doubled loop and used 1" foam pipe insulators from Lowes to fill it.
It has lasted 10 years so...

"Lippsing" a Q-tip propeller by
MP[_2_]
Thought I'd ask for comments before doing something stupid and irreparable
to our propeller.
We have a Hartzell Q-tip prop on our Glasair. That's the fancy bent over tip
that gets all the jokes about the FAA Inspector who grounded a Cheyenne when
the propellor first came out. (Looks like the prop...

High Price of Flying Wires? by
PWK
Wondering why the price of a set of Flying wires for most HB Bi Planes cost
3k or more? Not trying to argue, just wondering what drives the high cost.
Thanks- J. Wolfer
