Towing to the airport by [email protected]
I'm looking to tow my plane to the airport. I've seen aircraft towed on their own wheels. I called the local police department and they said I had to use a trailer. Does anyone know the "road rules" for towing aircraft to the airport? I tried googling for federal or state (Maine) regulations...

Vendor at Oshkosh ??? by stol
Ok, here's my situation. At Osh this year I chatted with a vendor in the flymarket section that was selling heating pads that epoxy on the bottom of the oil pan. Since I didn't know the exact size of my Ford pans footprint I chose to measure it when I got home and order the right size later. Well,...

Really the cheapest way to fly... by Bret Ludwig
Get an A&P license via the EXPERIENCE method or at a community college and join a flying club. Or become a CFI, and do likewise. No homebuilt flies that cheap.

Preserving Epoxy (Epoxicles ???) by steveukman
I am seeking advice about mixing and storing epoxy. I started my first wooden rib last night after weeks of thinking, planning, building jigs, cutting gussets, testing, rebuilding jigs..... I decided to use epoxy for a number of reasons. The problem is mixing small enough quantities reliably. I...

This really made me angry. http://www.sportpilot.org/news/060803_ann.html It was a link from the EAA's eHotline email. I'll be sending out the appropriate emails and links to John Osterhout's web page. Please do the same.

Altitude Encoder w/ GPS Question by Scott Rodriguez
Looking at buying an altitude encoder for the transponder in my yet-to-be-born homebuilt. I see some altitude encoders have an RS-232 output for sending altitude information to a GPS. What kind of functionality does this provide? Is it "real-world" useful? Thanks! Scott

Torque for prop bolts by Scott
Quick question for the group. When setting the torque on prop bolts (I have bolts with nuts), if the hole for the cotter pin doesn't line up with the castleated nut at the proper torque setting, is it better to go tighter or looser to get the hole lined up. My gut instinct says tighter,...

Speed mods for homebuilts by Lou
Ok, say your building an Emeraude and your not looking to make it a speed demon, you just want to close up a few gaps. As your building the wings, you realize the sizable gaps at between the wing and the flaps, & ailerons. What would anyone recommend to close these up while in the building process...

Post-accident photos of RV/TBM Avenger Oshkosh taxi collision by Jim Logajan
Some post-accident photos (no gore, thankfully) showing the RV and TBM Avenger were posted on a forum on Doug Reeves' RV website: http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=9638 Really gives some perspective on the visibility, or lack thereof, that both pilots must have experienced.
