Club Accounting S/W by
WDM
What accounting software are soaring clubs using for there operations. I
hear QuickBooks may not be flexible enough for soaring club operations.
Something to handle billing, accounts payables, reports, aircraft time and
charges etc.
Thanks in advance, Wells Morse

OK. How fat can I be? by
Eggs
The soaring bug is in me. But unfortunately so is that chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra, turnip greens and apple pie I had for dinner.
I'm a fairly big guy; six foot, one inch tall, broad shoulders. Let's put it this way... I can't drive a Miata. Assuming I crack the scales at the...

Part 91 Commercial Glider Rides to be Outlawed? by
Vaughn
The following is from an AOPA post and I have no further information yet. I
assume that they are talking about eliminating 135.1(5) which allows nonstop
sightseeing flights within a 25-mile radius. This is bread & butter for a
lot of soaring schools and would be a serious blow to our sport. ...

Predicting ground effects on induced power by
Marc Shorten
I'm trying to develop a simple model for estimating induced power
savings for birds based on Wieselberger's (1922) work on ground effect
in fixed wings.
As I only want a basic picture of what's happening as the wing
approaches the ground, I only want an equation for a curve that'll
roughly predict...

Microaire by
ZASoars
I have had excellent performance from a Microaire for the past 4 years in my
glider . I frequently talk to other gliders 200 miles away with good
transmissions reported and clear reception .

Mexican TCA's by
C.Fleming
So far my online browsing has turned up nothing on Mexican Aviation
Regulations -- and it doesn't help that I don't know Spanish. Does anybody
have a helpful link?
I'm trying to find regulations governing "Operations in Mexican TCA's" (not
Class B), specifically, that airspace within 30nm of...

Wing root fairings by
D.A.L
I have noticed that several articles on glider performance refer to
adding/modifying the wing root to get better performance. Can anyone
refer me to further info on wing root fairing design and or mods to
improve performance.
Cheers, Don
