3rd Class Medical in Florida Question… by
Bob
I recently started by Private Pilot training in Daytona Beach and love
it. I actually never thought I would do as well as I'm doing and my
instructor is hounding me about getting my medical as he things I
should be read to solo very soon.
First I'll admit it, I HATE DOCTORS!… What all is...

Idea for Jay by
Mike O'Malley
Jay, got a question- is your hotel's roof visible from the traffic pattern?
I only ask because I just remembered a place we used to fly over every day when
towing banners, they'd put a sign up on their roof for all (pilots) to read:

Combat Air Museum in Topeka worth it? by
Jay Honeck
Thinking about a day trip from Iowa City to this museum in Topeka, KS, on
Wednesday. Destination Direct says we'll be there in 1:44.
Anyone been there? Is it worth the trip?
Thanks!

Concorde - Ears still ringing by
ShawnD2112
Just got home from work and my ears are still ringing from standing next to
12 Olympus turbojets at idle thrust as the last three Concordes taxiied into
the BA Engineering base and shut down to be towed to the retirement
ceremony. This after standing on the 8th floor of the car park watching
them...

Advice by
Brad
About 3 weeks ago, I was awoke by a phone call from my mom letting me know
that my cousin had been killed in a plane crash. Actually, both him and his
girlfriend. For those of you who were at Oshkosh this year, you may have
heard of him and his father, Ray and David Stits. David was killed...

Diamona DA-20 Katana Review (not for the tall!) by
noah
Hi,
So I didn't find many reviews of the Katana prior to my 'checkout'
flight 'attempt' in one. This afternoon I took a 1.2 hr checkout
flight with a CFI from Diamond Air (www.ksql.com) at San Carlos
airport (KSQL).
Summing up my opinion: If you're over 5'8", or have a long torso,
forget about the...

Control input during loop by
MLenoch
I must admit, for years I have been doing such but never asked why. Why do I
need to use left rudder to keep the nose straight during a loop? I have a US
airplane, with normal prop rotation. If I do not use left rudder, the nose
will yaw to the right. This is not due to P-factor?
Thx in...

If there were 25 million active GA pilots... by
Dan Luke
....in the USA instead of 400,000 or so:
There would be GA airports *everywhere*. They would be like beehives on the
day before Thanksgiving.
You could rent a T hangar for less than the cost of a 1 br apartment.
The accident rate would be about the same but the fatal accident rate would
be lower...

Closed airport south of Boston by
David Rind
I flew into Logan (on a commercial airline) today and noticed
as I have in the past flying myself that there is a fairly
large airport with X'd out runways south of Logan. From a distance,
I've occasionally mistake it for Norwood, and on the terminal chart
it looks like it's near South Weymouth....
