Bruno recruits dozens by
Soartech
It's a rainy day here and so I sort of drifted into watching a few of Bruno Vassel's awesome "Scenery tours of Utah" videos on YouTube. I bet most people have no idea that the mountains seperating the dusty, brown valleys of Utah are so green and intersting on top! Then I started reading the...

BS-1 N10PE by
Steve Leonard
I am trying to find this sailplane. It was brought to the US in 1970
or so by Elmer Katinszky. It then went to the East Coast in 1979, then
to the Pacific Northwest in 1980, and returned to Souther California in
about 1984. Sometime between 1984 and February 1987, the aircraft was
destroyed. At...

Bucket hat vs baseball cap by
soaringjac
I just picked up a bucket had that pretty much every glider pilot wears, but I don’t want to wear is because I feel like it limits visibility way more than my baseball cap does. With the baseball cap basically visibility is only limited when looking up, but with the bucket had visibility is...

Budapest Airshow 2014 by
Roy Clark, \B6\
Here's a link to a video from the 2014 Budapest (my favorite city - after Nephi, Minden, Julian, Warner Springs, the Mynd, and North Yorkshire - that is/are?).
I know they are all powered aircraft, but the flying skills are remarkable.
You will also see why those who have been to Budapest succumb...

Buffer for Waxing & Polishing by
Mike the Strike
My old orbital buffer died, so I am throwing the question to US RAS members to suggest a replacement. I know they run the whole gamut from $29 to $999 - looking for a recommendation for a reliable and cost-effective unit.

Buffing and Waxing Gelcoat question by
Discus 44
Since the season is just getting started, I know this is an older
topic, but I have to ask again about how other glider owners approach
this. My experience is using both "Meguires Products" and finish up
with Harly Wax. I use also the vertical buffing wheels associated
with what is commonly...

Bug in ILEC SN10 USB adapter fixed 3-Feb-2010 by
Dave Nadler
Hi Folks - We found and fixed a bug that caused some NDB files not to
load properly from a USB memory stick using the new USB adapter (only
some NDBs without airspace). The bug is in the software within the USB
adapter (not the SN10 software).

bug wipers by
John Cochrane
I'm shopping for bug wipers for my ASW27B, and am curious to hear from
others with experience, especially in this model. Bug wipers are not
very common in the US.
Thanks

Bugs - self-cleaning wings? by
Bill Daniels
Brousing today's science news turned up a bit of research on the
self-cleaning properties of titanium dioxide - a pigment used in
'superwhite' paints.
From a Science Daily story on self-cleaning bathrooms:
"The particles work by absorbing ultraviolet light below a certain
wavelength, exciting...

Buick Invitational glider cameo by
Bob Mowry
Anyone else catch the 2 second glider video shown as part of the Buick
invitational yesterday? I didn't see the entire match, but I was
visiting relatives and caught probably the last 30-45 minutes (John
Daly was on the 17th I think when I started watching). There was a
quick glider shot of...

Build a 1-34 from plans?! by
Gus Rasch
Group,
Are plans available? Has anyone ever done it? I bet SSC could sell
the dickens out of plans and kits if they made them available. I bet
it would be a quick build too! Thoughts?

Build your own PowerFLARM! by
Darryl Ramm
OK this is kind of silly but the the actual size of the PowerFLARM
device has been discussed in other threads. And as pointed out there I
think the renderings on the PowerFLARM web site makes the unit look a
bit larger that it really is.
Anyhow being a visual kind of person (and somebody who...
