How so?
It seems to be designed around the assumption that everyone has a moving-map
GPS to show the boundaries of the...

OT politics by
Chris W
Every now and then some fairly interesting political discussion happens
here, I have a question for those who like to participate in that
discussion. Where is a good forum for that kind of discussion?
I am considering putting up a political web site that mostly will
involve people in, or running...

Plane 172 fun video by
[email protected]
Just plane C172 fun :D
I was a back passenger during a precheckride lesson for a student and
was invited along for the ride. Normal takeoff, stall and fall and
Forward slip to no flap landing featured in this video.
Needless to say, being in the back seat of a Cessna allows for a
unique view out...

Time, running out of fuel and fuel gauges by
Dylan Smith
A couple of points with regard to running out of fuel:
1. I think many pilots forget about the time factor (i.e. keeping track
of it) once they are a few months out of student training.
2. I think teaching that the fuel gauges are useless (which is very
common) is teaching a dangerous myth.
With...

Why a triplane? by
Ricky
I am not an expert on aerodynamics so I do not know much about the
pros & cons of a monoplane vs. a biplane or triplane.
I've a re-kindled interest in the Red Baron recently and was looking
at a Fokker Triplane replica picts & videos and doing a bit of reading
about it's flying characteristics.
I...

Some more positive GA News by
Jay Honeck[_2_]
http://www.press-citizen.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008801280321
Our local newspaper is doing a great job of helping us to promote GA. After
years of being anti-airport, it's a wonderful thing to see.
Now all we need to do is clone this kid, and GA's future is secure.

C-5A/B Galaxy Model Aircraft by

The Lockheed C-5A and C-5B Galaxy are variants of C-5, a strategic
airlifter aircraft. The C-5A was the original version of C-5 used by
the US Air Forces bases. The C-5C was a specially modified variant for

Lightspeed Zulu pirep by
Kobra[_3_]
Flyers,
I would like to give a small PIREP of the new Lightspeed Zulu headset. I
bought one for the Bluetooth capability, but I was pleasantly surprised to
find it had much more to offer.
The comfort and fit was equal or surpassed my Bose X.
The ANR was about equal IMO to other headsets...

Unmanned Military Aircraft to Operate Under Advisory NOTAM Not TFRs by
Larry Dighera
Is this new policy really a good idea as a model for all UAV
operations conducted in the NAS?

The FAA’s decision to issue an advisory notam, rather than flight
restrictions, for unmanned military aircraft operations...
