Wright replica fails to get off the ground
One hundred years to the day after Orville and Wilbur Wright soared
into history on man's first powered flight, modern-day aviators sought
to duplicate the feat, with a little help from 21st-century technology
and supercomputers. They flopped badly.

"W" is JFK's son and Bush revenge killed Kennedy in 1963 by
Ross C. Bubba Nicholson
JFK gave Barbara Pierce a lesson in life in the summer of 1944 (making
her a "Cape Cod heiress"), and to her eventual husband, JFK gave a
personal motive for revenge. Perhaps if George and Barb had announced
their earlier engagement or even if George had given Barb a diamond
instead of a cheap...

"Trying out" a different insturctor just to see - good idea? Badidea? by
GEG
Hi everyone,
I'm a student with about 10 flights under my belt.
I had an instructor for the first 4 that I really liked.
I departed for a while, then had a new instructor that
I also really like - but for COMPLETELY different reasons,
and I can consider him "acceptable", but not great.
I wish I...

"The Aviator" by
Orval Fairbairn
My wife and I went to see "The Aviator" yesterday.
Comments:
The planes and some of the flying sequences were great -- especially the
S-38 and the reproduction of the H-1 and the CGI of some of the other
planes.
Acting: Leonardo DiCaprio should *never* have been cast as a pilot! His
"flying"...

"Squawk standby" by
Roy Smith
I had a wierd thing happen a week or so ago.
We were VFR, and called up POU tower (class D satellite of NY Approach),
10 southwest landing with blah, blah. The tower controller told us to
squawk standby. After confirming that instruction, we did so and a
little while later he told us to squawk...

"LIFEGUARD" Flight Explorer by
Micbloo
This is pretty cool. I got in from the"Flightweb" site. You can track all
"Lifeguard" flights (Pretty much) in the US. And it's pretty much in Real
Time
(actually a 5 minute delay).

First private-sector spaceship rockets into history
A rocket plane flown by a 62-year-old pilot soared more than 62 miles
above Earth yesterday before gliding back safely to a runway in
California's Mojave Desert in the first privately financed manned
spaceflight.

120-foot journey to immortality
Life: Wilbur and Orville Wright weren't born with wings, but that
didn't stop them from flying. Almost 100 years ago, the duo
accomplished what had seemed impossible: They solved the problem of
human mechanical flight.
