St Louis Pilots by
Sydney Hoeltzli
Well, who knows, cast bread upon the waters, leave no
turn unstoned and all that.
We are based at Spirit of St. Louis with a shadeport
lease which runs until January. Our spot is on the
more-desireable east facing side of the shadeport which
gets afternoon shade (cooler plane and less damage...

so let me get this straight...are you saying that people die??
Why yes, grasshopper. The moment we are born, we begin to die.

Com noise by
Hankal
Minor problem on my 2 com radios. If I have both (com 1 and com 2) on I have a
squelch noise. If I place my hand on either radio the noise disappears.
Most times I use Com 1 for transmitting and com 2 for ATIS listening.
Any ideas?

Rentals at BUR by
Dan Katz
I used to fly out of BUR, and when they closed Pilots Co-op (became
Burbank Aviators), that was the virtual end of rentals at BUR. I moved
over to VNY and rent out of Blue Skies - of course, there are a lot of
rental facilities at VNY. Shame though, since BUR is a great airport
to fly in and out...

OSH yellow flow, 18R, and the blue spot by
Jack Allison
About the same thing I came up with using the same method Ron. Sounds like
an exciting fwd. slip to landing since you can't descend out of 1800 MSL
until after crossing 9/27. Fun!...no, really, I like slips. :-)

Eisenhower as pilot by
Rick Durden
Dan,
Good post. Winston Churchill was also a pilot, soloing, but never
receiving a license. He learned very early (don't have the reference
here but I believe it was during or immediately after WWI...at a time
when the sport was extremely dangerous and, if I recall correctly, he
stopped due to...
