Merry Christmas to all by
[email protected]
Here's a joke for you that I got from another thread,
The Public Works Minister of a former French colony in Central Africa
is in
France in an official visit.
He is invited for a dinner at the private house of his French
counterpart.
When he reaches the place, he can't refrain to say:
- My...

I have a database, which I will gladly sell you, for all these pilots.
Please send ME a private email, as I am too important to monitor web sites.
Dude.
PS I would never put my email on a NG, and you are going to find out why
soon...

BD-4 Landing Gear Rubbers by
smjmitchell
I have what I hope is a simple question on the BD-4 landing gear.
On my BD-4 plans the rudder donuts that are called out for the main and nose
gears are identified as a Lord Mount (J-11968-5). There is three of these
required for each aircraft, one for each leg.
My question is can you still buy...

Hi everyone, Am planning on embarking on building an RV 10. Would like to
hear from those who are building an RV10 or have built one. Questions:
1. Can I order / start with the empennage kit initially and then order other
kits as I move along?

ADF static? question by
JFLEISC
My friend has an ADF in his C-180 with the type of antenna that goes from the
windshield to the tail.
Says it works fine on the ground during taxi and runup but gets nothing but
static (over the phones and needle won't "track") about 3 to 5 minutes into
flight. Happens every time. There are no...

Partially built homebuilt question by
[email protected]
A while back, I had most of a Clip Wing Cub given to me. It has wood
wings, (assumed to be Wag-Aero) and what appears to be an early
certified cub fuselage. I can no longer get a bill of sale for the
fuse and wings; how do I get this thing registered as an experimental?
I am an A&P mechanic, so I...

Homebuilt tax writeoff by

So much has been said about tax writeoff for certified new plane
purchases.
Any possibility for homebuilts? When the kit is purchased? When
completed
and registered?

turbine in microturbine generator for aircraft? by
Shin Gou
I googled, but there's not much infor. about converting the turbine in
the microturbine generator for aircraft use. So I am tossing my idea
here. The Capstone's microturbine generator looks very neat. The
generator has 60kw output, and the turbine itself should have higher
output, enough for a...

Homebuilt Inspections by
john smith
Other than the signoff for flight, why would the FAA get involved in the
annual inspection of a homebuilt?
I was watching the national news (ABC) last night (Wednesday) and
watched a segment which took place in an FAA hangar in Washington DC.
There were five FAA types with clipboards going over a...

LORAN antenna difference? by
JFLEISC
Can someone tell me the differences between a loran antenna and a comm or VOR
nav antenna? I guess what I'm looking for is why they would not be
interchangable, i. e. is the loran signal totally incompatible with others? is
it an absolute necessity for a preamp in the loran antenna (I would assume...

Headset tester by
M.
Hi all
Does anyone have a copy of a circuit diagram to construct a headset tester?
I'd like to construct one to test the headsets students are returning
claiming them to be faulty, which after I've headed out to the flight line
and plugged in, surprise surprise, there is no apparent fault.
Any...

Dream Airplane poll by
Bob Babcock
I read the Kitplanes discussion and thought that a poll of this group
would be interesting and more relevant. Perhaps in response to two
questions;
What airplane do you own?
What dream airplane would you like to build and/or own?
My vote on both questions is the correct choice, of course.

Diesel by
Robert Bates
Is there such a thing as a smaller (used market) diesel other than the
current batch that is being developed? I have researched the Guiberson but
it is too large for a light twin and too small for something bigger like a
Beech 18. A site mentioned a six cylinder opposed engine developed from...
