Canadian Aviation Expo - Europa will be attending by
Pete
For the Canadian builders or future builders in southern Ontario, the Europa
factory folks will be attending the Aviation Expo (Canada's largest aviation
show) this weekend on June 18th at the Oshawa Airport, with a tri-gear demo
ship. With luck a local builder will also fly in with his fine...

Titanium landing gear by
Neal Fulco
This question showed up in another post, so I'll ask it as a dedicated
question. About the landing gear legs on the F1 Rocket ( or Harmon
Rocket ) and the Sonex. Does anyone know the diameter and lengths of
the titanium landing gear of these airplanes? How about a source of
the titanium/costs? ...

Flight test update - long by
nauga
The last few days of maintenance paid off
today. The engine ran *much* smoother in
flight (prop balancing). There's still a
fairly pronounced vibration at certain RPMs,
but they're easy to avoid and have been reported
by other RV-drivers with similar prop/engine
combinations. Engine temps are...

Limbach L2000 by
Jeff
Good evening friends. Recently got a plane with a Limbach L2000 engine. Is
this engine a Type 1 or 4 VW?
It has a single magneto and I want to add an electronic ignition. I
contacted Steve from Great Plains about machining a second set of spark plug
holes in the cylinder heads. He asked me if...

Bob Martin
Is a statement such as the following acceptable for weight and balance
calculations for flying?
"As long as the maximum baggage weight of XX lbs and gross weight of

O-235 Powered Long-EZ by
hh
I'm considering buying one, wondering what I should plan for an engine
overhaul hourly reserve. TTE unknown, no logs, the plane is still flying off
its phase 1 hours, about 10 STOH (unknown quality). I'm told by the
builder/seller that it's an L2C model, but a fellow looked at the pictures
and...

Aircraft Scales by
Kyle Boatright
My EAA chapter is looking for a set of aircraft scales. We can't break the
bank, but we're not lookin' for junk either. Anyone want to suggest a
source for appropriate scales and a brand/model (or models) that offers good
accuracy at a reasonable price?
Thanks,

Alternative O-290 cylinders by
Gene Z. Ragan
Hi,
I am wondering if V0-435 cylinders can be used as replacements for the
original 0-290 jugs.
This is for non-certified use. I have also heard of an O-320 cylinder
modification. If anyone could give me some advice, I would greatly
appreciate it.
Thanks!

zoche diesel status and specs? by
Ed Wischmeyer
does anyone know what is the status of the zoche radial diesel?
are any flying yet?
Don't believe it has ever flown, and I doubt that it will anytime soon.
Sure would love to have one on the front of my airplane, though.

One Wire Bad on a Slick Harness by
jls
Do you have to replace the entire harness or can you replace the wire?
I've replaced the plugs on the left rear cylinder and checked to make sure
no induction leak. The egt on no. 2 cylinder is running 200 degrees low.
The other 5 cylinders are fine.
Mag check shows the problem clears up on the...

Westach 720-4a sensor by
Ira Rampil
Greetings,
Has anyone seen or developed a characterization of this tach sensor?
It is a combined magnet/coil combo used to generate a pulse when a
bit of iron speeds past(Ampere's law). In my case, I have 6 steel AN5
bolt heads/revolution roughly 3/32" from the sensor head at roughly...

I have no ties to any of this Dennis Fetters guy or the Mini 500

I ran across these postings about Dennis a few months back and started
reading all I could on the groups and the web about Fetters and this

All I can say is unbelievable....
