Nice Newspaper Article by
Vsoars
I'm glad the article was well received and thanks for the kind words.
The point of getting media coverage is to promote our sport. It's
easier than you think. It took me 10 minutes to use the "Record"
template from the new, revised Soaring Publicity Handbook. I emailed
it to the city desk...

We had the pleasure to take the Arcus on its maiden voyage in the US
this last weekend in Immokalee, FL. We made 6 flight for about 6
hours. What a dream ship. You would swear it was a singleplace 15m or
18m. Aileron control and roll rate were great. Even though this ship
just flat out goes I...

Goddard PS-5a by
Brad[_2_]
My power supply smells funny..............oh yeah, and it won't send
power to the PDA anymore, but it does pass GPS info to the PDA.
Is it repairable, or do I buy a new one?

Glide Navigator 2 technical question (V2 and V3) by
Scott Alexander[_2_]
I'm going through the setup on glider navigator 2 on my IPAQ 2215.
When I select the polar data it does not ask for the speed at V2 and
V3. It does ask me for max l/d info and V1 speed.
Anyone know how I can enter the V2 and V3 speed?
Thanks in advance!!

Trailer TETRIS by
JS
Has anyone had success with loading two 15m (Cobra or similar)
trailers into one shipping container?
Better yet, have the two trailers come out nicely at the other end?
Seems to me that one needs to go above the other in a high-cube: Tail
first up top and roll the other underneath...
Or both the...

Hi Folks - We found and fixed a bug that caused some NDB files not to
load properly from a USB memory stick using the new USB adapter (only
some NDBs without airspace). The bug is in the software within the USB

Pete Williams memorial plaque at MEV by
Hellman
Pete Williams was a great contributor to soaring. He authored "Self-
Launch! - Retractable Engine Sailplanes" and, along with Kempton Izuno
and Bill Seed, brought Tonopah to our attention as a great cross
country site. The ASA (Auxiliary-powered Sailplane Association) is
collecting funds for a...

tienshanman
I’ve been curious for some time about ridge soaring in the E. US. The prospect of still being able to fly in the winter sounds nice. Can anyone tell me roughly how often conditions allow ridge soaring in E. Tennessee? Let’s take the period between November and April - can one count on the ridges...

Snapshot camera for gliding ? by
Dave Nadler
Hi All - I'm looking for recommendations for a
snapshot camera to carry while gliding. Last
season I used my iPhone - its a pain to use
in the cockpit.
Ideal camera:
- very thin (fits easily in side pocket)
- instant on
- no settings to fiddle after turning it on
- doesn't autofocus on canopy
