Human factors RECKLESSNESS by
private
My apologies to the Usenet police cross posting but
I am in mourning for friends lost, and in sympathy for the families they
left alone.
This week we have seen behavior that can only be described as reckless.

Thanks for the Spins Rich by
David B. Cole
Today I had an opportunity to fly with Rich Stowell as part of his
annual Emergency Maneuver Training Clinic in NJ. Yesterday we
experienced low viz and fairly low ceilings the entire day with even
worse forecast for today, so it didn't look good for us. But today
turned out to be an almost...

Snaps in the Decathlon by
Dave Russell
My latest endeavor has been to learn to snap-roll the Super D. A
couple of training flights in an Extra 300 proved that I could learn
to fly them, but transferring that experience to the Decathlon has
been humbling. (As an aside, I *strongly* suggest you do not go fly
an Extra 300 when you own a...

Older Decathlon - airframe abuse? by
[email protected]
Me and couple buddies are considering buying a early 80's model 8KCAB
but I am a little worried about doing sportsman level aerobatics in a
plane that old. Not having owned a plane before I was wondering if
anyone on the group have experience with older decathlons and how they
hold up to that type...

turbo video by
Peter Holm
Hi,
I donīt know much about aerobatics, but I would love to see a video of
an aerobatic airplane with turboprop engine doing the vertical climb
and the torque roll. A search with the Google machine for "turboprop,
video" on this forum didnīt give me any results. Does anyone here know
about such a...

What airplane would fill this mission? by
John B
Hello all,
I'm looking for an airplane to purchase or build, but I can't find one
that meets all of my needs/wants (yes, I know, all airplanes are a
bucket of compromises). So, I'm asking all of you out there for
advice on any airplanes that would fit this profile.
Important to Haves:
- could be...

Right prop, wrong prop? Wood prop, metal prop? by
Gus Rasch
Group,
Two different questions. Looking for your input.
#1
Flew my S1S with an O-360 180hp and swinging a metal Sensenich prop
76-56. This combination has always been easy to overspeed the engine.
On climb out at full throttle I have to maintain 85 mph indicated or
it will exceed 2700 rpm. In...

First Two Aero Lessons This Weekend (Long) by
David B. Cole
Well I just returned from my second acro lesson in as many days and
all I can say is that I'm wiped out. Having an opportunity to fly
with Rich Stowell on two occasions and performing a number of spins
and other maneuvers certainly helped with endurance.
The airport that I flew from is Van Sant...
