Flarm unit performance to OGN Ground station issue. by
Glidingstuff[_2_]
Hi all
I am wondering if any RF/Flarm wizards can help me. This is beyond my area of expertise/pay grade.
I am having huge issues with a Flarm unit I installed in a parachute operation's drop plane here in New Zealand. Its a Cessna 185 and the unit is installed with 3 external aerials for Flarm...

World-Wide Soaring Turnpoint Exchange by
John Leibacher
Unfortunately, there are some issues with the primary site (soaringweb.org, and
the mirror sites soaring.geichhorn.com, soaring.guenther-eichhorn.com,
and soaring.gahsys.com), so their content may not be up-to-date, with a
restoration of service probably not before the end of August ;-(
However,...

Silent Skies by
[email protected]
I live in Great Meadows, NJ, about 4 miles northwest of Hackettstown
Airport. This is a nice clear Saturday morning, and usually I would
hear the occasional airplane engine as some SEL passes nearby, even
once in a while the distinctive sound of a radial. But not today.
And why? Because...

Advice re. Nimbus 3 OR 4Dt? by
John McLaughlin
I'm just coming back into gliding after a long time grounded and I'm
looking to buy a glider over the winter. A two seater seems a nice idea and
the Nimbus seems to be a lot of glider for the money.
Are they in any way difficult or unpleasant to fly? I know there have been
structural failures...

Used Parachutes by
John Huthmaker
Thank you to everyone who provided their insight on the "Do I, dont I" get an emergency parachute. Hopefully this thread doesnt open another can of worms.
Can anyone provide some web links of places I may be able to procure a used parachute?
Also, what is a fair price for a parachute at 5 years...

What has become of Gliding International? by
2G
I subscribed to the digital edition at the first of the year. I received access to one issue. Then the next issue came out and I couldn't access it. I sent John an email asking for a resolution to my problem and got no response whatsoever. Since then there hasn't been any notice of another issue,...

Sailplane Canopy by
[email protected]
I'm wanting to find out the manufacturer contact info of the sailplane canopies specifically a Libelle 201 that are located in Colochester. Gram Drinkell mentioned they can produce a 201 canopy for 400 pounds. I'd like to have contact info for this company.

DG-200 Water Valve by
S. Murry
One off the dump valves on my DG-200 is not completely closing. It seems
that the spring mechanism that pushes down on the plug to seal it when you
close the dump valve doesn't have enough "oomph" to completely close the
valve. I suspect that a good cleaning might be all that is required, but
if...

Rear view camera for tow plane? by
Waveguru
We have a mirror on each side of the fuselage in our PA-25, just in front of the cockpit, and they are both convex, but if the glider is off to the side very much at all, you loose sight of it. Has anyone installed a rear view camera with a screen in the cockpit like a lot of newer cars now...

Assistance with Dittel FSG40 by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I need assistance with an old Dittel radio for a club glider.
The manual suggests that it's possible to make it compatible with an amplifier type mic instead of a 200ohm dynamic mic. It apparently involves adding two resistors to the amplifier circuit, does anyone have the details for...
