Zenith Aircraft by
Curt Fennell
Has anyone built one of the Zenith aircraft or dealt with them on a
regular basis? I am curious to know if they are good with builder
support.
TIA,
Curt

Consequences of dropped spark-plug? by
Kensandyeggo
Could having dropped a spark-plug (REM38E in a Lyc O-360-A2D) cause
static in the radio when on one mag with none on the other mag? What
other consequences might there be from a dropped plug? I've been
wrestling with a static problem on one mag in the radio. I got some
good advice here...

Aluminium Cowls by
......... :-\)\)
Hi,
Can anyone tell me what alloy is used for the manufacture of aluminium nose
bowls on aircraft such as the Luscombe or C-140 or J-3 Cub ?
Also how are they made (hand beaten, drop hammer etc ??)
I assume they are formed in the 'O' condition ? If so are the heat treated
subsequent to forming...

Corrosion at Aluminum/Steel Junction by
Front Office
I need to build a dozen outdoor canopies for an office building.
I want to use structural aluminum channel, bolted with steel bolts.
Where might expect corrosion to arise over the years, and would
it be mainly in the aluminum or in the steel bolts?
Thanks for any help.
Please post here or email...

Soda Blasting by
Scott Derrick
I'm repainting a fiberglass airplane.
Sanding the wings, once removed from the plane is a fairly easy chore,
however sanding the underside of the fuselage and strakes is going to be
a major chore.
A body shop near the airport has a soda blaster that they will let me
use. I've heard of folks using...

My buddy Ray Jarvis has completed and flown his Airdrome Aeroplanes
Replica Nieuport 28. It's full scale and is powered by a 9-cylinder 150

Its debut was the Gardner KS Gathering of Eagles last weekend.

Using an old RT385A as a base station. by
Avery Wagg
I have an old Arc RT-385A from my Cessan 152 sitting in the closet that I'd
like to turn into a basestation. Mostly so I can listen to airplanes going
by overhead.
Does anyone know of an electronics kit I can buy (or make), that could
provide the 28v power, a headset jack and a PTT switch?
I've...

I would like to hear from anyone with experience with this unit, good or

sizing, for instance, does a 180 hp Lycoming require the same size...

Why don't wings have dimples? by
Dancing Fingers
Hi all,
I always wanted to build my own airplane but the time and money has
eluded me. So I've decided to design and build my own recumbent trike,
with farings. This brings me to my question, if golf balls have
dimples, to help them sail further, why don't wings -- especially for
STOL aircraft? ...

Jim Weir - Radio Receive Current by
Ron Wanttaja
Nothing earth-shattering, just an idle curiosity. Several years ago, I had to
replace the Escort 110 in the Fly Baby with a radio that met the tightened FCC
frequency specifications. I bought a heavy-duty power supply from Rat Shack to
power it, and it now lets me listen to CTAF in my den. When...
