ASW-20 fuselage control hatch needed by
Gary Adams
I am in need of the control hatch cover for the top of the fuselage for my '20. I have put a plea out on the ASW-20 Yahoo group as well.
Anyone know if the cover for a '19 would work as well?
Any leads appreciated.

Wind Gradient by
Dan Marotta
Looks like surface winds at 6 kts up to 47 kts at 18,000' MSL, all pretty
much perpendicular to the mountains. Hope there's enough thermal activity
to climb into the wave... ;-P

Reno SSA by
Roy Clark, \B6\
If you are coming to the SSA Reno Convention, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, miss the opportunity to enjoy a Basque meal.
I was introduced to Basque cuisine while a GMO at Mtn. Home AFB, Idaho in the early 1970s.
My favorite in Reno is The Santa Fe Hotel - the are others.

Windows 8 64 bit issues? by
[email protected]
Time for a new laptop and it looks like many of the desirable choices (for me) include Windows 8 64 bit. Are there problems running any of the legacy apps we use in soaring. I tried searching here and on Naviter forums but found little useful information. So, any experience, good or bad will help...

WTB: ASW-27 by
noel.wade
Hello All,
Been off RAS for awhile dealing with work stuff (instead of glider-flying, darnit). Now that we're entering the buying/selling season I am cranking up my efforts to acquire an ASW-27.
If you know of a good bird that's not being flown, please let me know!
If you have a '27 and need...

Starting out the top by
[email protected]
Seems to me, that a safe and fair way to start a glider race is to climb out the top of a start cylinder. To make starting out the top an option that most pilots would choose, the top of the cylinder should be about 1000 to 1500 feet below cloud base and 2000 to 3000 feet above release height. I...
