Texas Parasol by [email protected]
To All: I have recovered some of the files containing the corrections to the FUSELAGE errors in the Texas Parasol drawings, originally posted in Feb 2003 but since erased. Also found were portions of the tutorial on extruded angle and its use for this type of structure. If you've any interest in...

what's a BUREP ? by jan olieslagers[_2_]
http://www.hexatronengineering.com/60hp_champ.htm uses the Burep as a measure of engine power. What the heck is a Burep? PS I recently saw this Hexadyne P60 engine at the Salon de l'ULM in Blois, France. Looks neat, but is not cheap. Are any flying yet?

E-mail Failure by [email protected]
To All: Returning from my latest stay at the hospital I find Google has acquired ISP.com, my internet service provider. In doing so it has trashed my e-mail. If you are awaiting a reply, I'm not even aware you've tried to contact me. I'm told ISP/Google will get things all fixed up... someday....

Getting a little squeeze (riveting) by Anthony W
My new rivet squeezer arrived today from Aircraft Spruce and right on time too. Anyway with a new tool to play with and nothing to rivet, I squeezed over a few pop rivets I had already installed. Holy crap Batman did those rivets look great and they're tighter than ever. I used 3/16" cupped...

Bucking bar and vice by mhorowit
New to riveting here. Reading on basics show the impact on the manufactured head is transmitted along the rivet and forces the bucking bar off the bucktail. It then slams back, causing the rivet shaft to begin to deform. Because the bucking bar needs to move, does this mean it can not be clamped...

Popular conversion engines by rektide
I've been mulling trying to use motorcycle engines for a while now but have had dreadful luck at finding anything at all interesting on the internet about the topic. I've found a few obtuse references to snowmobile and water-craft engines but no solid leads. What should I look at? I plan to...

Team Air Bike (Ultralight) by Flash
Yes, ultralight, but not entirely off-topic, as I could be interested in building one. I know this is probably the most knowledgeable forum on the net for this question, I know the original Team Air Bike ownership has passed to someone who is not releasing it for build/sale. But I saw one a...

I'm spending a drizzly day going thru the section of AC43 dealing with riveting and have an initial question. I think I know the answer but could use some comformation. Figure 4-5 shows Rivet spacing for single-lap sheet splice. It shows a double row of rivets in one case and the note "Strength...
