Exam-O-Grams by
[email protected]
Hello all!
I was recently in a local used book store, and on their aviation shelf,
there was a bound copy (if staples count as binding) of FAA publication
AAC-45C, containing VFR and IFR "Exam-O-Grams". Using the search at
the FAA, plus a little Googling of both the Web and Usenet, seems to
show...

A tower-induced go-round by
Jay Honeck
Today we experienced a new first, when the tower controller at
Jefferson City, Missouri decided to cut a Cessa 172 in front of me on
a short right base, *after* clearing me to land on Rwy 30.
Incredulous, I slowed as much as possible, and watched as the 172 (who
was several hundred feet above us)...

Another LSA question. by
Lou
A question came up in conversation the other day that got all
different kinds of answers so
I thought I would try it here.
Can a person get their PPL ticket using an LSA aircraft?

Flying to Chicago by
DBR
I'm planning to fly to Chicago in May, traveling from the south for a long
weekend of fun in the downtown area. Any ideas for a good airport that is
reasonable in terms of proximity and convenience? Thanks in advance.

I took my bike out to "Northerly Island" (Chicago's official name for
Meigs Field) a couple of days ago and took a picture of the field.
Bear with me if I don't get this link right - might have to make a
couple of attempts.

Taxi speed by
Hilton
Hi,
What is the normal and maximum taxi speed (in knots) for an RJ, 737, and 747
in normal operations? I'm just using those as examples, feel free to
mention any others. Also, I'm not looking for maximums or AFM limiations,
just the day-in day-out taxi speeds and the maximum that a crew would...

First impressions of flight by
Mxsmanic
What did you notice most during your very first experience travelling in any
type of airplane, as passenger or pilot? And if you are a pilot, what did you
notice most during your very first experience actually flying an airplane (if
it was not also your very first experience with flight)?

Garmin 430W holding help? by
Paul kgyy
I've seen discussion here about setting up a hold at a waypoint and
tried to make it work today but could not.
Reading the manual, it appears that using the OBS button to SUSP will
do it, but that seems only to define a new track to the waypoint and
really confuses the autopilot.
Suppose heading...
