FLARM Technology for the US Gliding Community by WE
There has been a lot of talk over the past several months about FLARM and PowerFLARM coming to the US. Unfortunately, there has been not enough information about these systems to support an informed discussion. John Cochrane and I both flew with Classic FLARM units in Hungary this summer at the...

The question as to what trainer might be best for the future obviously hit a nerve with some people. As always, opinions are like rear ends, everyone has one and some carry more weight than others. For most of us, it didn't matter what the club or commercial operator had for training, we wanted...

Blanik by John Smith
I've heard that LET is currently investigating whether working out a fix for the Blanik is feasable and reasonable. Rumour says that they are trying to find out how many Blaniks are still in use and that it will depend on the demand whether they will develop such a fix or not. So all interested...

2-33 by Peter Smith[_2_]
The Harris Hill Soaring Corp. is fortunate to have 3 2-33s, 4 ASK 21s, a 1-26, a 1-34, a single place Discus & a Duo. Our juniors are trained in the 2-33, & they then progress to the higher performance ships. I've not seen any resistance on their part to learning to fly in the 2-33. Former HHSC...

soaring video with Flarm in use by Brad[_2_]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWRX1hcz0_0&feature=player_embedded#! the guy shooting the video has a Flarm on top of his panel, in some of the scenes you can see the display lighting up and see the target sailplanes. I thought this was pretty cool to see Flarm in action. Brad

I currently download my flights using 3UTPC256 which creates an IGC file. I am applying for a state record on one of my flights and we sent the flight file to our state record keeper in the IGC format. He is insisting that we send him a CAI file which he claims is more secure. Can someone help...
