I'm going to be re-doing the panel in my old Bonanza and would like to get rid of the gauge cluster i currently have and replace it with something that can fit in a standard instrument hole. The cluster takes up a lot of real estate. I need fuel pressure, oil pressure, ammeter and fuel gauge in...

My Bose headsets are shocking me! by Peter R.
For the first time in about 200 hours of use in the same aircraft, my Bose X ANR headsets started shocking my ears every minute or two. The aircraft is an '02 Cessna 172 SP with Bendix King avionics. I suspect it is not the headsets, but perhaps a bad ground somewhere in the intercom...

Engine... Overhaul? / Replace? advice please by text news
The engine in our 1972 C172 (0-320-E2D) is now due for overhaul after 2800 hours as lead particles have started appearing in the oil filter. (Top overhaul was at 1500, bottom end untouched). Still running beautifully, no vibration, plenty of power, good compressions etc. We are not sure how best...

Don't know if you know about this, but the petition to keep Concorde flying is going to change. The emphasis is now going to be on keeping one airworthy to be used at airshows, etc. If you want to sign the petition (anyone that signed the old one will automatically be carried over to the new one)...

Replacing Battered POH by Marco Leon
How does one go about replacing a POH in poor condition with another "official" copy? I've been contemplating slowly re-doing the POH for my Warrior but nixed the idea not knowing the regs. A Google search showed up negative on this query. Marco

Mode-S for spam cans? by Roy Smith
My club has started thinking about putting Mode-S transponders in our aircraft (3 Archers, 2 Arrows, 2 Bonanzas), to take advantage of traffic advisory information. Does anybody here have Mode-S in their plane now? Do you make use of the traffic info? How well does it work? How easy is it to...

Found Loose Cylinder Bolt by Greg Hopp
On preflight I noticed a little oil seeping around the bolt on the pilot's front cylinder (Superior Milleniums). This is on a '67 C150 w/ the Continental O200. I grabbed the bolt and turned it @ 2 1/2 times until it was finger tight against the cylinder. Partner and I have grounded the plane. ...

Sales tax due from seller? by Nathan Young
Hello. I live in Illinois. I am in the process of selling my Cherokee 180. Does anyone know if there are sales tax implications for the seller? Does it matter if I sell the plane in-state, out-of-state, or to a corporation? When I purchased, I bought the plane from an individual who lived...

Cessna 172 with Wild Fuel Gauge Needle by jls
Anybody know the reason for this? The needle on the pilot's side is stable, but the needle on the co-pilot side swings wildly, especially when the tank is full. A float moves the needle around the dial. Why doesn't it stay still and be good like its brother?
