What annoys me today by
scott moore
http://www.invensense.com/news/112806.html
The short take on this: MEMS or micromechanical technology, basically
integrated circuit technology used to make microscopic mechanical
features, having been used to make $1 accelerometers, is now being
used to make $1 gyroscopes, with a full internal...

Looking for a math wiz! by
Chad Speer
Okay, I know I've seen a lot of engineers and technical folks on here.
I have a complex math problem relating to the classic wind triangle
that I posted on sci.math and received little response. I don't know
if they're stumped or just not interested. :-)
Here is a copy of my original post and the...

Commercial 250nm VFR flight - all 3 landings on the same day? by
Jim Macklin
The long flight does NOT have to be on the same day, it is
acceptable to have a stop, but it must be as it says below
landings at three places, with one a straight
line of 250 NM. I would log the flight as stages, with the
citation of 61.129 in the remarks, with notes that it was a...

Contact Approach -- WX reporting by
[email protected]
It was briefly mentioned in one of the longer threads that a contact
approach requires 1 sm reported ground visibility. It reminded me that
I had flown a contact approach some 8 months ago to an airport about 15
minutes after the tower had closed (there is no automated weather
available) and...

RNAV vectors by
Dan Luke
Anybody ever get vectors to final for RNAV approaches?
Around here (Mobile. AL), I never hear it, although there are plenty of
ARNAVs with lower minimums than the VOR approaches at both airports. If you
ask ATC for one of the ARNAVs, they'll clear you to an IAF every time.
Is there something...

Direct to intermediate approach fix? by

Yesterday, we had filed /G (with a CNX-80). Our clearance was KPOU IGN

were on V157 somewhere north of VALRE when we got "fly heading 200 to

IFR Cancellation Question by
A Lieberma
Severe clear today, so other then the safety net of ATC services, weather
wasn't an issue.
Coming back from HBG (Hattiesburg MS) to MBO (Madison MS) encountered the
following exchange with ATC. I was already told to expect the visual
approach in my inital contact with approach controller. ...
