Cool Copilot Site by
Shane
You should all go and check this site out. It's for an Air Race, and
lets you choose the camera angles and fly right along side the pilots!
Let me know what you think

Citabria with gyros by
Bob Esser
After long consideration, I have decided on the type of plane to
purchase: A Citabria 7ECA. What led me to this decision was the
following desire. I want to be a part time instructor and I think the
perfect niche for me is roving tailwheel and spin trainer for the flight
schools in my area. I...

What video cameras are people using? by
Dave
I'm considering setting-up a video system for aerobatic lessons to
record the stude and the aircraft's attitude - ideally 2 or 3 tracks
concurrently.
What experiences have people had with video cameras during g loading? is
any camera regarded as better or worse under aerobatic conditions?
Has...

Beating Nausea by
S Culver
Does anyone have recommendations on how to permanently beat nausea while
flying aerobatics? I know of all the commonly reported ways to *temporarily*
beat it: ginger snaps, the electronic wristband, etc.
I've been taking lessons in a 152 Aerobat for about 6 months now, and almost
every time we...

Dumb question maybe re Stall Turn by
Surreyrider
Need someone to settle an argument. I do not fly, so your answers need
to be in laymans terms and hopefully put simply.
I've occasionally watched aerobatic displays and seen a maneouver
called a stall turn. Now, I more or less understand how this works,
but there comes a point, just before the...

Any Experiences with these schools? by
gregg
Hi all,
I'm in the midst of selecting a school for aerobatic training. I live in
Massachusetts.
So far I've found two to look further into and I was wondering if anyone
had any experience with these folks:
1) Executive Flyers Aviation - they work out of Hanscom

Aerobatic engine IO-360 AEIO-360 comparison by
Jay Moreland
I need to have someone explain to me the advantages of two different
Aerobatic engines: IO-360 with Christen Inverted Oil system VS an
AEIO-360. Are there any inherent benefits of one over the other when
doing acro with negative G maneuvers? Or are they essentially the same?
Can you take any...

Information about a TL3424 RAS instrument by
Someone
Dear All,
I am looking for information on the TL3424 RAS acceleration logger
(http://www2.tl-elektronic.com/index.php?
page=lsa&p_id=7&PHPSESSID=fee5ff74bb944f141d491dcb1af990f6).
As I undestand it, this logger can log speed and G-acceleration during
a period of time (not just when an exceeded...

Christen Fuel Pump troubleshooting by
ShawnD2112
Hello, folks. I'm fishing to see if anyone else here's had the same problem
I'm having.
I've got a Pitts S-1D with a Christen wobble fuel pump. The action on it
has gotten so stiff when priming that I fear it's close to locking up. It
still primes fine and the fuel pressure's good when the...

Tailwheel question by
Steve B
I have a Starduster SA100 with a Scotts tailwheel. The tailwheel is
not tight on the springs it is loose and the wheel can be moved a few
inches each direction before the springs make contact.
I would think that there should be no play in the springs... my
thought is that it could cause shimmy and...

Compression Tests by
Doug
Does anyone do an "automotive" type compression test on their aircraft
engine? I think this kind of "dynamic" test might show problems (such
as valves not opening all the way), that a leakdown test would not
(and vice-versa). Anyway my annual is coming up and I want to do it. I
imagine something...

Any Pitts S-1 pilots in this group? by
Kai Glaesner
Hello,
are there any Pitts S-1 (C/S/T/CC) pilots in this group?
If yes, I would like to ask what your experiences are with your engines. I'm
in the process to start building a S-1S but have not yet decided which
engine I will finaly use.
Choices are (by now):

Questions about aerobatics by
Ghazan Haider
These should be in the FAQ:
(1) Can a PPL do aerobatics? If another certification is required what
are the hourly flight minimums in an aero aircraft?
(2) What is the difference between the wing-on-top aerobats like the
Decathlon and the low-wing types like Extra 300 and Cap-232?
(3) Where can I...

Blunt Trailing Edges by
......... :-\)\)
Hi All,
Many modern aerobatic aircraft have blunt trailing edges on the wing and
ailerons. Can someone tell me:
1. Why it this done - what are the benefits and side effects. There is a lot
of contradictory information on the web and I simply cannot get to the
bottom of it.
2. What is theory...

Too tall for a Pitts? by
Glenn
(I tried posting this last night via a different NNTP server, with
photos, but I never saw the posting show up anywhere, so I'll post
again)
I am looking at purchasing a homebuilt S1D but am concerned that I
might be too tall. Headroom is probably OK, but I'm not sure about
legroom.
The second...
