Anybody have VB skills for aviation weather? by CaptainCraig
Hi folks! Just wondering if anyone thinks it is possible to retrieve enroute winds and metar/taf information using Visual Basic? I have a MS Excel flight planner that I think would do well if I could get current weather into. Writing from Canada, by the way.

To go around or not go around? - Video by Kai Rode
It would be interesting to hear what others would have done on the first landing. Go around. It's almost always the safer decision. But maybe I'm influenced by a similar situation I experienced the day before yesterday...crosswind landing on RWY31 with winds 24013G23KT. I used full flaps...

What turned this bird around? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGKZ5E3nCD8 3 seconds "realtime" slowed via high speed video Was it the tail feathers that the bird used to make a 180 in mid flight? Three segments in the video, each segment progressively focusing in on

To go around or not go around? - Video by Dave[_19_]
Well.. ......having previously owned a 172, I think I would have continued the landing as this pilot did... (Now , remember this is judging only from the vid) If this had been a "bounce" that may have compromised directional control, I probably would have gone around..

Airplane noise can indeed be annoying by Dave J
I went camping last weekend at the Sunol Regional Wilderness, in Sunol CA. I took my son (14 mos. old) for a simple car camping/hiking trip and we had a good time. But I could not get over the amount of aircraft traffic over the park. It was non-stop! Now the funny thing is that I'm a pilot, and...
