The Wisconsin School by
Chris Mark
I was discussing with a friend the Gar Alperovitz episode and remarking on how
regrettable it was that even in a military-oriented newsgroup visited by people
with an interest in Cold War history and whose lives have been directly
affected by his views, he is an unknown. And that led us to the...

Last week two synagogues in Istanbul,Turkey were bombed.
Today(Nov 24,2003) the Washington Post reporter Karl Vick in a front

Pakistan.

Concerning Arsenal Aircraft by
robert arndt
It might help to note that Arsenal aircraft are almost always
forgotten when WW2 aircraft are mentioned. It is little known that the
VG 30 attained 500 mph in a dive between 13,125 and 6,260 ft in July
1939*- before the Corsair hit 400 mph in Oct 1940. Arsenal then tried
to produce the VG 33...

Concorde for Manchester by
Devi Deveraux
Well, at least one of the beautiful white birds might be coming home
to Manchester:
http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/news/stories/Detail_LinkStory=71207.html
I envy those of you who live there. There is speculation that one
Concorde might make it to the US, but not any time soon :(

F-16 max speed quetion by
Bjørnar Bolsøy
http://www.f16falcon.com/facts/f16_1.html
"In order to save weight and complexity, the geometry of the
intake was fixed, which limits the maximum speed of the F-16 to
below Mach 2."
If this is correct, it begs the question: what possible max speed
could the F-16 have reached if a movable inlet...

SR-71 T-shirt/ poster done MM Style by
Sam Byrams
"The JP-7 burned out before the legend ever did" and a (presumably
photoshopped) "LOCKHEED SR-71 1963-1999" plaque like that on Marilyn's
tombstone is on the front. The reverse is a high-key picture of the SR
from the rear, climbing, gear up and "tiger tails" from the ABs and
the "Blackbird" name...
