Q about an experimental by
Me
Hello to the group. I just read a Google groups thread from a few years
ago, on the Allison V-1710 engine. Two of the posts included a reference
to a DARPA project to develop an engine for long range cruise missiles.
It used a diesel engine as its core. Can anyone provide information on
this...

747 Cruise Missile/JDAM carrier? by
David E. Powell
So.... if the USAF needed quick bombers, of the heavy kind....
Could this work? Wing racks might be doable.... I am not sure about putting
in a bomb bay, though doing it ahead and aft of the wing and gear cluster
might be doable.

Tilt-rotor folding/feathering props. by
Charles Gray
I've seen a few ideas for Tilt-rotors that involve the idea of using
the props up to about 300 MPH, and then feathering them and folding
them back against the body of the engine, converting ti to a pure
turbofan.
Is this just speculation, or has there been any real work done on
this, and if so,...

Is this scene genuine? by

it shows what looks like a me-323 being pestered by a RAF B-26

does anyone here agree that the Marauder in the picture cannot

I am trying to find identify the fuselage "coding" on Lt. Gerald A.

registration number was "KD546" from HMS Formidable's 1845 Squadron.

Flight 77 question? by
Garyurbach
OK, trying a new heading, just in case:
I am debating online with somebody who claims the descending turn of the Boeing
757 over the DC mall was some aerobatic maneuver.
I am betting a 757 can do that without unduly stressing the plane, in emergency
conditions.
He turned 270 degrees in 2.5...
