advise on re-painting an all-wooden airplane. by
Ted
I own an all-wood homebuilt that needs a re-paint job. It's mostly
covered in plywood, but some small areas are fabric only. Fabric
covers all the wood also. The only way I can think of to prepare it
for re-painting is to sand the entire airplane down by hand, and spray
on a new coat of paint. I've...

Pills & propellers by
jan olieslagers[_2_]
Bob,
Thanks for one more entertaining text and valuable lesson.
Hoping the question's not too stupid: while you mention diameter and
pitch and some parameters I don't really understand, why do you never
discuss the number of blades on the prop?
It seems obvious that a two-bladed prop is by far...

Vacuum Pump Question by
Ebby
For A&Ps and others,
Homebuilding ones own plane is very educational. Right now I am learning
about the vacuum system in particular the vacuum pump. My engine, an
O-320-E2D, can take a 211CC or a 215CC. I haven't been able to fnd the
difference in the literature. Does the difference in these...

What did you look for in a plane? by
Byron Miller
I am interested in building, and i love my choices.
I'm all for building a 4 seater, but i'm sure 99% of the time it will be
just me and or me and my buddy.
Is it better to just rent a "family cruise" when needed and do something
more enjoyable? I'd like to build the Pulsar or the Lancair 2...

Updated Oshkosh Frequencies by
RST Engineering
I just had an email from a feller that used my Oshkosh frequency list and he
said:
133.85 and 126.6 both seem to be used by the Warbirds Airboss. Those
will let you know when explosions are coming.
If anybody has any more updates, I'm ready to take them and refresh the
list.

503 DCDI still won't cut off by
Tracy
I attached two wires directly to the mag kill wires, a third wire
bolted straight to the engine itself for ground.
Then I started the plane and rev'd it up to 5,000 without warm up and
hooked the wires together and it cut off, then I let it warm up for
two minutes at 2,000, hooked the wires up at...

Elementis 3243 Epoxy? by
Corrie
Wondering if anyone has used this. A local industrial supply house
recommended it when I asked about T-88, which they didn't carry. (Yes,
I know I can get T-88 from AS or Wicks) It was failry inexpensive so I
picked up a half-gallon, and I plan to do some tests. According to
the specs sheet it has...
