Your personal paperwork isn't the only object of the government's

Rudder cable slots by

I've got to cut slots for the rudder cables in both the floorboards and
the rear skins. Are there any tricks for locating the necessary slots
in a way to keep them as small as possible?

Pitot tube for the antennae by

I've been going over my Delta, trying to find a way to hide the
antennaes in what is basically a rag and tube aircraft. (some of the
rags are soaked in epoxy, and some of the tubes ain't round...but,
anyway) I was beginning to think it wasn't possible when I happened

monitoring pusher props by

Jim, you're always looking for simple DIY projects for your kitplane
articles, aren't you?
Some guys on the flyrotary list have be batting around ideas on how to
determine if the prop on a pusher is windmilling. Would a piece of
reflective tape and an optical pickup suffice?

Repairing universal joint by

Today was proof that keep parts safely tucked away until needed is a
good idea.
The Dyke Delta has a universal joint halway down the torque tube, and it
uses a big one...a MS20271-B14. One of these puppies will run you
nearly $100 bucks, brand spanking new from the likes of Aircraft...

Auto-conversion adapter plate by
Ernest Christley
Well, I sold my big, custom-made bellhousing to another builder that
wanted to get that radial look out of a rotary engine. That 21 pound
chunk of aluminum just wasn't going to go nicely into the front of my
Delta, so it's all for the best.
But now I'm in somewhat of a lurch. I need to build an...

37 degree fitting by
Ernest Christley
The most recent Sport Aviation has an article on make up hoses. The
author states that 'you must use 37 degree fittings' and as is typical,
gives no reason why. Is there a reason for this that involves the laws
of nature, vs the "laws of the FAA"?

Replace fabric with glass by
Ernest Christley
Most of the fabric covered aiplanes I've seen didn't seem that hard.
That is, you could walk up to them and push the fabric in with your
hand. The way I understand the fabric process, it is basically a
composite structure. You have a nylon cloth with a paint "epoxy".
Could a much stronger and...

Home Brew Pre Heater? by
Errol Groff
Does anyone know of plans, sketchs, or pictures for building a propane
fired pre heater. What I actually am interested in is blasting some
heat up to the gutters to get rid of the darn ice.
Any suggestions appreciated.
