Toshiba e800 and Dell Axim X3 by
Paul Remde
Hi,
After all the discussion about the Toshiba e800 on this forum I did some
investigating. It does look like a very interesting Pocket PC. Besides the
large (4" vs. 3.5" or 3.8") high resolution (480x640 vs. 240x320) screen, it
also has both CF and SD card slots and a very, very large optional...

Toshiba e800 PDA anyone? by
Eric Greenwell
Is anyone using the Toshiba e800 with their soaring software? The larger
than usual 4 inch display, 480 x 640 resolution, and SD and Compact
Flash slots are attractive. I don't know how bright the display is or if
it can connect with a GPS, however.
And does anyone know if any of the Windows OS...

Toss and Turn Logger - Did you get enough sleep last night? by
son_of_flubber
An important but difficult question to answer is "How well did I sleep last night?" It would be nice to have some objective measure of that other than "clock time" because sleep quality varies.
I've been experimenting with an Ipod Touch App that uses the accelerometer to log my "tossing and...

TOST by
Xman
Question:
I would like information regarding installation in the USA of the TOST tow release - as sold on Wings and Wheels - for a tow plane in regards to FAA approval of the installation. I am interested in any installation but am looking at installing on a Scout 8GCBC in particular.

Tost brake bolt shears off by
Jack Glendening[_2_]
I am wondering if others have experienced the shearing of a Tost brake
bolt resulting in brake failure - I'm speaking about the bolt which
extends from the hub and is secured to the aircraft frame (not
the bolt which extends for the wire lever attachment). I experienced
such a failure on my latest...

Tost brake bolt shears off - the answer by
Jack Glendening
Nearly a month ago I reported on my Tost brake failure on landing. I
finally was able to get the plane to someone knowledgeable (Tom
Stowers) to look at it and the answer is that the brake was
incorrectly installed.
The axle spacer was placed on the wrong side of the hub, making the
hub...

TOST Disc Brake Conversion Kit for LS4 through LS8 by
Gianni Isotope
I just received the kit for my LS7. I'm interested to hear reports from others who have already installed it. Was the installation straightforward, or did you encounter any unexpected difficulties?

Tost Disk Brake rebuild? by
Paul Cordell
I discovered that my Nimbus 3D had lost it's wheel brake Saturday.
Fortunately, I still fly with the assumption that it, like many
gliders of the past don't have wheel brakes. No damage done other
than a Long push back to the tiedown area.
Upon examination of the system, (and the puddle) it...

Tost E-85 on Tow Plane by
[email protected]
Hello,
We are installing a Tost E-85 tow hitch on a Super Cub. We wrote up a
nice 337 for the Feds. They approved of the bracket we fabricated.
However, they are refusing to sign off on the E-85 hook. Think we've
run into the same Feds who tried to ground Bob Hoover. Anyway, they
are saying...

TOST E85 RELEASES by
[email protected]
Can anyone out there confirm whether the timeframe for the overhaul for
Tost E85 releases is still 2000 flights, or has that been extended ?.
I seem to remember from the dark recesses of my mind that it had been
extended, but I have been known to be wrong.
Thanks in advance. Cheers, Charles

Tost internal Winch by
HL Falbaum
Who out there uses the Tost winch for rewinding the rope into the tow plane?
What procedure do you use?
Do you stop at the end of the rope, then start up again when ready to
launch, or do you have a slow 'rolling' start. Do you have problems with
'jerking' the glider and overrunning the rope?
We...

Tost Lilliput brake question by
Hartley Falbaum[_2_]
I am trying to improve the brakes on a Libelle 201B. I replaced the shoes and de-glazed the drum recently but not much help.
I trued the drum on a mandrel in a 10" Clausing lathe. I mounted the backing plate and shoes on another mandrel, intending to true the shoes, but got readings that told me...

Tost Reel Cable Breakage by
Jim Kellett
We've been using a Tost reel internal to the towplane (PA-25) for
several years now, and are delighted with the overall improvement in
operational efficiency and safety. However, we've also had over a
dozen breaks in the Tost-supplied rope/cable, always right where it
enters the "slug" that...
