CFII instructor as passenger (FAA) by
Dave S
It IS possible for an instructor to give dual instruction without
logging (or being) PIC.
In one instance, I did some instrument training in my aero-club's
Grumman Tiger. The instrument instructor I used was not yet checked out
in the aircraft type in the club. So, from a club insurance point...

Commercial 250nm VFR flight - all 3 landings on the same day? by
Jim Macklin
The long flight does NOT have to be on the same day, it is
acceptable to have a stop, but it must be as it says below
landings at three places, with one a straight
line of 250 NM. I would log the flight as stages, with the
citation of 61.129 in the remarks, with notes that it was a...

Copper in oil analysis ? by

I've just had a big increase in copper; wonder where copper comes

I had the same thing happen. Copper comes from brass bushings. In my
case the wrist pin broke in the middle and the bushing was being
destroyed. I...

Does an "IFR approved" GPS placard require database updates? by
Doug
In regard to insurance, unless your insurance excludes it, you are
covered. So read your policy, paying close attention to the exclusions.
I can't imagine that a policy would exclude coverage for something like
that. All mine requires is the airplane be in annual at the anniversary
date of the...

Does part 91 apply outside the USA? by
Barry
Now let's take 91.175. The USA mandates the use of a published IAP.
The UK does not. 91.1 says p91 does not apply outside the USA. Does
this mean one can fly an unpublished IAP in the UK?
I don't see anything in 91.1 saying that it does not apply outside the US.
It says that it does...

My $.02-- FS2004 is good enough for procedures and scan. Don't bother
buying a yoke or pedals. Use a cheap "gamepad" type controller with

controlled weather, advanced" and turn turbulence to max, both on the
clouds panel and the...
