Ceilings were perfect for more IMC time. FAF of ALLEN is 2200 and
ceilings were averaging 1800 give or take so I knew I would be in the
middle of the action
All en-route portions were timelapsed...

3 more Qs by
Ramapriya
1. Like there are crosswind landings, are there crosswind takeoffs too?
If yes, what's the procedure of takeoff?
2. In crosswind landings, it's recommended that one lands on only the
upwind wheel. Since this would almost always tilt the upwind wing
groundward, would there not be an engine strike?...

3-monitor SIm Support Update by
Gary G
For those who were interested in this - I posted a question about 1-2 weeks back,
MS Sim 2004 supports multiple monitors.
In general, the biggest performance hit relates to video
card memory and performance. Adding windows does affect your PC.
For less than $100 - I got tremendous improvement in...

3-point landings by
Ramapriya
While we were awaiting takeoff clearance at Khartoum recently, an
Ilyushin IL76 Syrian Air cargo plane landed. Just prior to touchdown,
it kinda flattened out from its nose-down final and clearly did a
3-point landing. I was looking at the plane from my starboard window
seat.
During flight, I had...

30 minute reserve by
Chris W
Isn't this 30 *minute* reserve rule for day VFR flight a bit odd? Here
are 2 examples to illustrate why I say that. In a J3 Cub you are going
to go just over 35 miles in those 30 minutes. In an RV-7, you can go
100 miles with that same 30 minutes reserve. If there is a head wind
the difference...

30 Years Since Edmund Fitgerald by
Jay Honeck
It was November of '75 when the SS Edmund Fitzgerald went down without a
word, taking 29 sailors to the bottom of Lake Superior. To those of us who
grew up on the Great Lakes, it was a terrible thing (even for those of us
who had nothing to do with the maritime industry), and the sinking...
