AMT question: Approved Data by
Mark
Hello.
I am studying for my O&Ps and I have a question about "approved data" and
"acceptable data."
I understand that the manufacturer's maintenance manual is only considered
"acceptable data," and is therefore not approved for use in making major
repairs or major alterations.
So let's suppose I...

Primary Glider Recall by
[email protected]
To All:
As promised some days ago, I have been consolidating all of the
computerized Primary Glider drawings I have. There's quite a bit of
information dating from the late 1980's. It is on five computer
systems and in several formats.
Unfortunately, the most recent files (which are on memory...

Headset tester by
M.
Hi all
Does anyone have a copy of a circuit diagram to construct a headset tester?
I'd like to construct one to test the headsets students are returning
claiming them to be faulty, which after I've headed out to the flight line
and plugged in, surprise surprise, there is no apparent fault.
Any...

NACA duct ventrui by
Chris W
Here is why I was asking about the reverse NACA duct. I am thinking
that a simple venturi would be a great backup to an engine driven pump.
Naturally no one wants to add the drag that bolting a venturi tube on
the side of the plane would give. So I was trying to think of a way to
make it...

Unusual Vacuum system indication, Please help explain by
Al
Hi Group.
I tried this on Rec.Aviation.Ifr, but no one has come up with any good
ideas, so I am bringing it to you guys, (including the ilk).
I had a trip Friday in a 1977 C-337G(pressurized). On the taxi out I
noticed the suction gauge was pegged high. The AI erected ok, but the DG
required...

Moller hits the UK by
CanalBuilder
He's at it again. Now he's convinced the BBC. I suppose it's not
surprising as media organizations are dominated by people who aren't
good at the practical stuff.

Pleas feel free to contact the BBC and tell then what's wrong with the
article.

Washout? by
[email protected]
I picked up a project that was supposed to be built with 1.5 degrees
of washout towards the end of the wings. The builder unfortunately
built them without washout, because while his workmanship was actually
quite good he was worried he wouldn't be able to match the wings and
one would drop in a...

Best homebuilt for ~700 nm commute by

Re the Tango (composite) and RV (metal) an article in July Sport
Aviation (pg 54) addresses Drag Coefficient as a function of
construction process. The multiplier for the Drag Coefficient for
composite is 1.0-1.05 and for flush rivet metal is 1.10. Composite
can reduce drag then by 5 - 10% over a...

Ignition problem? by
nauga
My #3 cylinder has always run a little cold
on the right mag only. I fixed what I thought
was an intake leak 20 hours ago and that helped,
or at least seemed like it, but today it became
clear that #3 was not firing at all on the right
mag. To make a very long story a little shorter,
the problem...

Abandoned cargo: Anybody recognize this airplane mockup? by
Bob Kuykendall
This just popped up on SalvageSale:
http://www.salvagesale.com/showoffer.asp?o=21033&l=16457218
Looks like sales mockups of two small airplanes. The description is for
an airplane and a car, but it looks to me like mockups of a two-seater
airplane fuselage and a four-seater cabin. Judging by the...
