Is this place clean & safe now? by Ricky
Left a couple years ago in midst of some idiot filling pages with spam. In fact, many left. Is "it" gone, or at least abated somewhat? Happy flying! Ricky CFII, Multi, Balloon

Beechcraft made in China by Mxsmanic
Hawker Beech has been sold to a Chinese aviation company. My guess is that, in ten years, there won't be anything American about Beech except the name, if even that is retained.

Bounced landing recovery? by [email protected]
When I look at the NTSB reports it seems pretty often a bounced landing and loss of directional control is cited as a cause of accidents. Many of the pilots involved were highly experienced. My question is why isn't recovery from bounced landings stressed more in private pilot training? ...

Please ignore Mx by Morgans[_4_]
Please, everyone, if you don't know the history of this group, let me tell you... Don't ever respond to MX. He was the primary reason this formerly vital and active group (around 200 posts per day) has been all but abandoned. He is death to any group he touches. -- Jim in NC

Question
Throttle levers question by arski
Hi, I came across a very weird explanation of facts of a plane crash. An official report stated more or less something like this - "The throttle levers retracted after being set to START - which may prove nobody controlled their position. The levers' locking mechanism was not engaged due to the...

Would you fly more if airplanes cost $10/hr wet to rent? Could it ever happen? by Capt. Wes B.
So, I have noticed how restricting the cost of flying is. It freaks me out, and even makes me angry when I talk to people who passingly state that they had a pilots license but it was just to expensive. I get kinda mad because it is like a waste. I know how hard I worked to get mine at age...

I tried responding to my post about xcountry logging, but the replies don't show even though it said the posts were successful. I'll do it this way??? each of those three legs, the longest being 59 nm, the other two under 50, were to a full stop landing. I know the 59 NM can be logged, but what...

Discovery Channel Crashes 727 by Vaughn
In the dual interests of science and entertainment, Discovery channel recently crashed an instrumented and crash-dummied 727 in the Mexican desert for a future show. From my armchair perusal of a rather bad U-Tube video, the crash looks survivable...for a few lucky souls in the tail section. ...

EAA/AOPA Medical Exemption - if you care, then comment today by Finbar Sheehy
So far, about 876 comments on the EAA/AOPA Medical Exemption request. That's sad - only 0.2% of AOPA membership. If you are over 40, or think you ever might be, then this Exemption is likely to become important to you. It's designed as the second step (after LSA) in a rolling elimination of the...

For Anyone Using the LiveATC iPad APP; Question ? by Robert11[_3_]

iPad Radio APP's ? by Robert11[_3_]
Hello, Looked, but couldn't seem to find any. Might anyone know of any free (or inexpensive) iPad APPs that would enable one to hear Tower and Tracon conversations from different sites ? Or other "good" Aero APPS ? Thanks,
