Looking for a cheap working condition Garmin GPS 100 by
Richardt Human
I have a C172 which is used extensively in a non-profitable flying
school. The C172 has all the necessary avionics for a trainee pilot,
but no GPS. If somebody can assist me with a good second-hand, still
in working consition GPS at a fair price, it will be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Richardt...

AI self-levelling by
MC
Does anyone know how fast a gyro AI will self-level ?
(degrees/hour ?, %/minute ?)
It can't be too fast as it'll indicate level-flight
whilst still in a climb or dive, and it can't be too
slow else it'll take ages to recover from a
disturbance or startup.
TIA.

Back in the saddle - flying again! by
GEG
ALRIGHT! That felt good!
After a 2 year hiatus, I'm back in the saddle again!
I was so mentally ready!
Although I've only flown 4 times (last year once for a 20-minute
hop in a Piper Tri-Pacer tail dragger on a grass strip), I hit
the rectangular patterns, maintained altitude on turns, hit
my...

Calibrate? Repair? Adjust? by
RST Engineering
A recent thread on what a person with an FCC license would have to do to
install/calibrate/repair/adjust radios led me to do the research that I
generally wind up doing once a year when this thread comes around again.
Let's talk about the plain old airframe mechanic ("AM") and the feller with
the...

Engine on Global Flyer by
Brent
They're saying the Global Flyer's jet engine burns 102 pounds of fuel an
hour. If that kind of fuel weighs in at 6 pounds per gallon, that's
about 17 gallons an hour, or roughly double what I burn in the little
Cherokees I fly. Then again, the jet propelled the Flyer about 2 times
as fast with a...

Vibration Monitor (Hyde, Wanttaja?) by
RST Engineering
Necessity, as they say, is a mother.
I am in the process of reinventing a square wheel called a vibration
monitor. The electronics is relatively trivial IF the input and output
parameters are known.
What we know is that the engine is going to have a fundamental frequency at
cruise RPM. Let's...

Maintenance Manuals by
RST Engineering
While I'm on a rant, there is a sense in this ng that the manufacturer's
maintenance manual must be in the area where an annual or 100 hour is
performed. I can find no such requirement in part 43 or part 65.
Part 43 says that the maintenance manual procedures must be followed. Part
65 says that...

L52 by
Javier Henderson
Has anyone here flown to L52 lately? I noticed that their website,
www.aircamp.com, is offline.
I'm thinking about camping there for a night or two soon, and I was
hoping to get some current feedback...
Thanks.
