noise pollution from private planes by [email protected]
I live in a relatively quiet city, until recently. A flight school opened up across the bay from me, and all day long, all I can hear outside are these private plane motor noises. It is really awful. It is like having a gas powered lawn mover above me all day long. As one plane leaves, another one...

Garmin 295 waypoint message by Bob Fry
Every time I start my Garmin 295 it says "Aviation Waypoint Was Deleted." I've seen this a dozen times by now; how can I stop the message from appearing?

Aviation and Music by Yoyoman
Hello to all of you, I thought my message would be appropriate into the aviation / miscellanous. I'm a composer combining aviation and music, synchronising for instance propeller sounds and music, but I create many more "conversations" between aviation and music. To find me, just type "yoyoman"...

"Trying out" a different insturctor just to see - good idea? Badidea? by GEG
Hi everyone, I'm a student with about 10 flights under my belt. I had an instructor for the first 4 that I really liked. I departed for a while, then had a new instructor that I also really like - but for COMPLETELY different reasons, and I can consider him "acceptable", but not great. I wish I...

Does Av-Blend work? by tony roberts
Hi Peter The aircraft that I purchased had a long history of sticking valves. When I bought it I started adding Avblend and haven't had any problem. I also lean aggressively on the ground and monitor engine in flight on an EI monitor. So maybe any of those things could be responsible for my good...

D.C. Cessna sca Repugnikkkans runs like cowardly chickens ! -- LOL! by george

IGX & RDU during graduation week by Dave Reinhart
My stepson is graduating from grad school at UNC Chapel Hill next year. We already found out that we're too late to get rooms close to the campus--50 weeks from the event. I'm wondering if anybody has flown into Horace Williams or Raleigh-Durham for commencement. Does IGX NOTAM the place closed...

noise from Palo Alto airport by [email protected]
Every day these noisy, small private planes from Palo Alto airport destroy my living space. They fly too low, and this causes their low frequency motor noise to enter my home and drive me crazy. Especially on weekend days, there is either one plane entering or leaving my airsapce, so there is a...
