Recording cockpit voices by Glenn Westfall
Does anyone know of any adapters or such that would allow hooking up an audio recorder to record all cockpit communications? ie, both transmissions to ATC and conversations to other passengers. Thanks, Glenn

PIREP question by Andrew Sarangan
Came across a PIREP that had '/RM AWC-WEB-ASA'. What exactly does this mean? Sounds like something to do with AWC's web site, but what could that possibly have to do with a pilot giving a PIREP?

DCA and the 30 minute rule. by Ardna
The TSA or whoever after 9/11 imposed a rule on flights in and out of DCA that no passenger may leave their seat until 30 minutes after takeoff and 30 minutes before landing. My question is simple, what if 6 people all stand up at once on say , a 737. Are the two cabin crew members going to be able...

Nice Song on NPR by G.R. Patterson III
Heard the tail end of a nice number on "All Things Considered" today. The title was reported as "Sunken Walls", and the theme seemed to be the freedom introduced by the Wright Bros. first flight. Didn't catch the name of the band, but it hails from Arizona, if I heard correctly. Might be worth...

Cessna 180 vs. 182 vs. 185 by Marc Lattoni
Hi, I ran into a pilot who was eagerly describing his 185 amphibian and remember seeing several wheeled versions and float versions in Fort Simpson a few years ago. I vaguely recall the (wheeled) 185 being a trike. How do the 182 and 185 differ? Marc

Tight patterns? by Bob Martin
Anyone else here like to fly a tight (or tighter than normal) pattern? The field we're based at (Falcon Field, FFC) has a pretty good-sized training operation, and there are a lot of students out practicing landings, especially on good days. What annoys me, though, is that some of these students...

Greetings, If you were at the Centennial of Flight Celebration at Kitty Hawk on Dec. 17th, 2003, then you might have seen the little pedaled Wright Flyers that they had the kids playing in that was in the main tent that housed the Wright Flyer replica. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can...

Bader Field (AIY) ??? by Rosspilot
I have flown there a couple of times. I can't relax and enjoy myself in the casinos because I am pre-occupied with the fear that somebody is ripping out my avionics, stealing my flightbag, or just peeping in the windows of my plane at night. There's almost no lighting, place is completely...
