A real Naval Aviation Question about A-4s by
[email protected]
I have been trying to find out how many hump=backed A-4Es there were?
So far with no results. Any one have an idea. If you check the books
about the A-4 there is a complete absence of info about how many A-4Es
were fitted with the Avionics hump. Being and old AK, at one time, I
would have thought...

Crash loads by
Chris
Does anyone know what specification the Navy uses to define proper
crash loading of structures in the cargo bay of the aircraft? I know
the numbers 16G's forward, 20G's down, etc., but I'm assuming this is
formally documented in a military or civilian standard. I'm not
having much luck finding it.

SB2U, why not a 3-bladed prop? by
Don McIntyre
I just got the Accurate Miniatures 1/48th scale SB2U-3 Vindicator the
other day and it got me to wondering about this question. Most USN
combat aircraft by this time had 3-bladed props, heck, even the F3F
biplane had a 3-blader. Considering the efficiency and performance
gains that could be...

Marine Corps Recruit Training by
[email protected]
Recruits that fail at boot camp have set themselves on a course of
failure for the rest of their lives. It's as simple as that. Will you
be the next Marine Corps boot camp failure? Will you return home with
your head hung low in shame?
I thought I was ready for boot camp. I took my enlistment into...

An Old Carrier Aircraft Mystery Solved? by
W. D. Allen
On 23 December, 1956, an FJ-3 Fury fighter plane was launched from the U. S.
S. Shangri La while operating south of Japan. The FJ-3 did not follow
normal departure procedures - instead it continued flight with it's landing
gear and flaps still down while slowly banking left as the plane turned...

RAMN turned 11 years old on June 13th.
Only regret is not to have made it moderated as the cross posted junk
has been a pain to deal with.
