YAK 52 insurance? by
YeahBuddy
Hi folks,
Anybody has any idea how much insurance on an older YAK-52 (50K-65K
purchase price) goes for? I'm assuming one registered pilot just out
of Air force UPT and all the civilian equivalent ratings under the
belt. Thanks a bunch!
Oh on a related question, what's a common aircraft loan term?...

KX-155 repair history by
Dave Butler
We're having some problems with our KX-155 where it intermittently stops
navigating. Several attempts at repair have failed. A friend has a KX-155 that
won't transmit. Another friend had a series of repairs on his KX-155.
The conventional wisdom seems to be that the KX-155 is the gold standard...

How to rent out my airplane by
Isaac McDonald
I am thinking of buying an airplane....I want to rent it when it is not in
use to recoup some of the cost of buying the plane. How hard is it to do
this? What are the insurance costs? How often do I need to get it checked
out by an aviation mechanic? How much is the maintenece? Do I have to...

Landing Light CB by

Landing light circuit breaker 20 amp. Pops after about one minute.
I have changed the landing light 4552, changed the CB and thought I had the
problem solved.
This morning Taxi at 6 am (still dark) I was pleased to have the landing light
while in close quarters, then the CB popped.
I have checked...

Sample leaseback agreement by
Captain Wubba
Hello. I'm considering a leaseback arrangement with a FBO I know well
and trust. I've owned airplanes before, and understand the risks,
rewards, and costs. I've talked to people who have had fantastic
results with their leaseback, and with others who have had abysmal
results.
But what I would like...

IO-360 break-in and oil recommendations? by
[email protected]
Our normally-aspirated Arrow IV is currently in the shop getting a Lycoming
factory rebuilt ("zero time") IO-360-C1C6 installed. This is the first time
in my 2000 hr. flying career that I have ever had to deal with an engine
break-in, so I would welcome advice from the group.
Lycoming apparently...

64 M20c Avionics Cover Sealing? by
BellSouth.net News
We are working on a 64 M20C Mark21, it does not have the "forward windshield
speed mod", still the factory design. There are two panels in front of the
windshield on the outside that cover the avionics assembly inside. They
have been sealed with silicone so many times that it took us 4 hours...

warped door in C172 by
[email protected]
The left door of my Cessna 172 is warped. I've tried the benign
options of using wooden blocks at appropriate places and applying
pressure to bend the door. But that didn't get the door back to where
it has a tight seal at the lower side (opposite hinges). There's still
about 1/2 inch gap between...

Upholstery Cleaner? by

Seemed like such a good idea . Save some money by going with cloth
upholstery rather than leather when I renovated the interior of my '60

mistake, especially when your most frequent passengers are dogs,
even though I do cover the...

Oil Temperatures by
Ross Richardson
I have a Cessna 172F with the Lycoming O-360 conversion and a C/S speed
prop.
My oil temperatures are always low. I pulled the probe and place in in a
can of oil heated to 180 degrees and had a calibrated thermometer beside
it. I marked the meter in the plane so I know where this temperature...
